The point of this thread is to highlight how just existing while black is being criminalized.

Which is a lot of bs. Is there racism out there? Sure. Do blacks commit homicides at 8 times the rate of whites? Seems to be the case there too.

My point was that I disagree with the premise “poverty = crime” and I provided an example that disproved that hypothesis. You can find others if you care to look as well. For example during the Great Depression, crime did not go up even though poverty went up.

Your hypothesis about population density playing into a crime rates also seems to fail when measured against real life examples. For example most of the major Asian cities are way more population dense that any US city yet their crime rates are hugely lower.

You disproved nothing. You cherry picked one example while ignoring others.

As for the great depression you are, of course, wrong. Early in the great depression crime spiked to an all time high. It later dropped as the New Deal programs kicked in.

https://www.history.com/topics/crime-in-the-great-depression

It may be a bit more complex than simply poverty = crime. However, statistically, people living in poverty are more likely to commit crimes. My links more than proved that.

So obviously, that means a student who fell asleep in the common area is just lurking, waiting for her chance to commit a homicide.

No, it means race relations in America is complicated and it doesn’t simply boil down to whites are the devil.

I guess the women who were menbers of the country club were just lurking also.

I putting just as much blame on the people calling the police as the police

Golf incident
Starbucks incident
Yale incident
Air BnB incident

Police were called by just plain overzealous white people.

You never answered the question, so what are you concluding about black people with all your energy focused just on statistics?

In the case of the following incidents

golf course
Yale
Starbucks
Air BnB

Think those people were debating stats in their heads before calling the police?

It's never just a single thing. I was saying population density is one of many factors.

What city do we have that is primarily Asian?

Yet they commit 60% less homicIdes than the white descendents of slaves and Jim Crow.

Racial tensions are at an all time high. In the last month there have been 4 documented frivolous calls to police.

This call should have been to park services so they could issue the man a citation, calling the police was ridiculous.

Problem is once a grill is hot, how are you going to move it?

Absent some evidence I don’t believe that these things are happening more often than they used to. They’re just being publicized more/people are tanking up for themselves.

Kind of like police body cams or cellphone videos. Does anyone really think police have suddenly started abusing people more than they used to? Nah, we’re just seeing what’s been going on all along.

So rather than ever admit someone was racist, you become immediately defensive and pull this? I know South Africans who pull this same shit. What this boils down to is a denialism about history and racism. The inability to say, "white people in general have a long history of racism and to this day, still practice institutionalized racism.

Just like science denial, and anti-vaxxers, this is racism denial. Yet another form of denial of reality itself to comfort one's feelings.

Guess what? Admitting history and white racism does not make YOU a bad person. It does not diminish you.

Grilling is allowed there. Issue was charcoal vs non-charcoal. Apparently this was worth calling the police and waiting around 2 hours where I'm assuming she would insist on arrest and prosecution.

A normal non-racist crazy lady would just call the parks department and leave a message. Then if this was truly an issue they'd send an employee to check it out (assuming they cared enough).

This is basically the equivalent to calling the cops on someone who didn't shovel their sidewalk fast enough. Technically correct maybe, but you look like a complete busybody d-bag.

Her motivations for the phone call were likely racist, but you can't really assume that she wanted him arrested. Do HOA psychos assist on arrest or prosecution? Or do they just want to make sure the rules are followed?

Smith told KRON4 that he and his family have had barbecues in that park for decades and that he often sees people barbecuing there with charcoal grills.

“She said that we were trespassing, we were not welcome, and then she turned back around and said, ‘Y’all going to jail,’” Smith said.

So when she says ya'll going to jail, what was the implication?

That's correct, i checked story she did say they were going to jail.

“She kept saying we were going to jail. She said that she was going to file a complaint for us cooking BBQ in the park. She said she knows her rights, that the rights state if she tells the police if she has a problem with us then we are going to go to jail,” Smith said.

Sadly she can't be arrested for filing a false report as they were in the wrong zone. So I'm not sure what sort of punishment she can get other than getting doxxed, fired, and publicly humiliated.

And? You said that you can't really assume she wanted him arrested, and it turns out you can.

I corrected myself. I've never been one to shy away from being wrong. You are correct, what I stated was wrong.

The woman should face public shaming, but I wouldn't waste more resources on her. She's wasted enough public resources

I’m not concluding anything about blacks, but you’re painting this pic of evil whites are the cause of all the woes in the lives of blacks but that’s absurd.

No kidding, even if they wanted to "shut down" like the lady demanded their only choice would have been to dump the hot coals out on the ground. Children getting injured from improperly disposed of coals was literally the only excuse the bitch could give why they shouldn't be grilling.
