Look on Craigslist for a used exercise bike. I bought one for $50, and I really enjoy it. I can read, watch movies, or listen to music, while getting fit.

I have a condition in my right foot, so barring running on the street/sidewalk what would you recommend?

I really don't take well to running (pavement). I vastly prefer an eliptical. Though, I tend to lean more toward the higher end models (Precore) that offer stronger resistance settings.

Why does everyone have a "condition" that somehow prevents only running? I've overcome breaking my left foot 3 times, knee injuries, back injuries, even smoking newports to still run like the wind!
