YOU'RE OUT!
Seriously though, she's not interested. Letting you down easily.
Guess we'll just stick to being friends...i just ended it...I'll find someone else, as they say, plenty of fish in the sea.

I say don't talk to her ever again.
She is more concerned about hanging out with cool seniors than she is concerned about being a good friend (or more, for that matter).
She is most likely doing you a favor, seeing as though she is not worth your time if she is that pretentious.
Ask someone who you think you would have a good time with and let that girl know she'll have a good time.
LOL I was thinking the same thing. This kid obviously doesn't know how to deal with females.

I did not go to my senior prom and I turned out ok. I lost my gf near the end of my senior year and i said to hell with it and saved ~$400 by not going.

she got a better offer.

Bullshit excuse alarms should be ringing. She's afraid of making someone else who's going to be there jealous and getting you beaten, or something. Or just doesn't like you enough to waste all that time/money/energy.

Sorry, but meh.
I don't want to seem like the asshole here, I just think that if it really mattered to you, you would have made the extra effort to flatter the girl (in person) :/. Either way, I don't think you can necessarily be pissed if she doesn't want to go. I think she was just trying to break the news as easily as possible. I'm sure you wouldn't feel comfortable going to prom with just anyone.

Saying she can't afford another dress and crap is just more B.S. I guarantee you if you go to that prom you'll see her there in a nice dress, with some senior and having a great time without you.

Is she in special education? She types as though she is.
