YAGT: Asked Girl to Senior Prom, she responds...

Ok, here's some background:

We've known eachother since freshman year, we both play Viola, and have had lesson's together since then (her name is Lauren). I had a date for prom, but it kinda fell through, though we are still gonna go out, we're not going to prom (she doesn't go to my school...etc). I am a junior graduating this year, but got special permision to go to the senior Prom, she's a junior, as we are both in the music dept we both have a lot of friends that are seniors. So anyway, Lauren is really fun, goofy girl, and I thought we coudl have some fun.


She just IM'd me with this however, and i kind of don't know how to respond...

"vince...i dont think im gonna go to ball...b/c i dont want to ruin ur night...like...i dont kno how much fo the night i;d spend with u b/c i have a lot of friends thata re seniors...and i just really dont want to be rude and ruin ur night...it'd be unfair"

Besides, there's so much truth in the emptiness of HS romances, especially when you're just going somewhere with a chick as friends, so its like extra empty non-romance

She is most likely doing you a favor, seeing as though she is not worth your time if she is that pretentious.

I didn't go either. My long-time girlfriend and I had an EXPLOSIVE finale in the months before prom. And here I am, just about exactly a year later, I've met the most amazing girl ever, we're madly in love in ways that I never knew were possible before. Two times before, I'd met "the one", and I was convinced that things were as good as they were going to get.
