She wants to eat your sausages, and maybe you can scramble her eggs.

Mmmmmm, brunch.

Not really a YAGT thread but a question about social ettiquette, I guess. So there's this girl I met at an audition who found me on myspace (yeah, shut up) who I've only really seen in the really real world 3 times, in professional situations. Not a close friend by any stretch of the word, but we've kept casual conversations going and, yes, I find her very attractive and have a bit of a crush on her.

Then, after being bored and feeling like a wuss, I decided to email her, saying that we should hang out to just catch up and such. She replies saying that we should do brunch...

Now, I don't usually get nervous but I'm feeling anxious. No, I don't think this girl has any feelings for me - she's way out of my league and she doesn't really know me. I just don't want to make an ass out of myself. Any suggestions? Should I just flake out since I'm so nervous?

this is never good advice...then you're not thinking about sex as much, and you don't want to be asexual...believe it or not, it's ok to let a woman you're interested in be aware of you sexually

2 months or 6 months, it doesn't matter. The OP is still the same. He'll probably post a YAGT thread similar to this one by next week.

Yet another freedomsbeat212 exchanges ten words with a girl on MySpace and turns it into a "OMG we're going to go out!" thread.

Oh hey look, all the pictures of her that you have are on MySpace! What a coincidence!

based on your myspace profile, perhaps she thinks you're gay and wants a friend

So be it! I wouldn't mind having her as a friend. It's just i don't want to make an ass out of myself.

oh and take her off that pedestal. She isnt that special or different.. she takes a smelly dump just like you. if you mess it up there are ohhhhhh.....a billion others.

That is true but there is something about our expectations and raising another person who we feel an emotional bond to (or potentially). I love the human condition with this kind of thing.

Just be yourself. If she didn't at least want to be friends she wouldn't have agreed to brunch. You have friendship locked in. What to talk about? Weather at first then as another posted stated: friends, family, career aspirations, what you like to do for fun etc. If she is quoting Marx (and if she actually knows who Marx is and his sociological/really economic (though he pre-dates actual sociological scholarship in the strict sense) ideologies than you could bring up the +'s and -'s of capitalism and socialism/communism ie. can communism ever work with the competive materialistic greed orientation that seems so prevalent in the human condition?

Just feel her out, don't be afriad of the silences and enjoy the time spent with a beautiful young woman whose mind is sharp. Good luck.

I am the peace of my convictions
I expect nothing and achieve Nirvana
She graces me by her presence
As I grace her with mine
Let my compassion and joy be a dance
As a river streaming; let us have a chance
Perchance; to build the foundation
Of Divine Providence

errr

Edit: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHGHGHG I need to look at the topic date. I need coffee

Good luck

Never assume that a girl is out of your league, because then she is.

Go for brunch and pursue the friend route. That is normally how guys over achieve any way.

Yup.

If she likes you, great. If she doens't, you gain a friend. No big deal.
