In fact, you should not engage in any conversation with a woman at work unless it directly relates to work. Do not compliment them. Do not ask them out to dinner. Your conversation outside of work should be limited to Good (Morning / Afternoon / Evening). If you go beyond this, you're a lawsuit waiting to happen. If you do date a coworker and you break up, things can get tense around the office (especially if it was a nasty breakup). She can sabotage your career or, worse, file lawsuits claiming sexual harassment. At the minimum, you will have to see her every day, and maybe collaborate with her frequently. It's just not worth it. With all the background checks employers perform, if a sexual harassment lawsuit pops up you can say good buy to that job.

DO NOT DATE WOMEN FROM WORK!!!! PLEASE is it worth it to lose your job over a woman??? If she starts to not like you, she could pull the sexual harassment deal and no questions asked you're fired.

Not if you have setup the documentation trail beforehand. They can pull that crap all they want, I have copies of their e-mails and phone conversations to cover my butt.

I know you guys won't believe me, but I have nailed multiple women at every single job/assignment I have had over the last 15 years. And that's after college.

On the 22nd of this month I'll be celebrating 10 years of marriage to a woman that I met at work. She has long since left the same place I work but it can get akward at times. Be careful, keep it strictly business at work.

Called her a little while earlier, going to an improv show at the Improv Asylum in the North End in Boston tomorrow night.

I've dated a chick I worked with and it ended up being hell due to how much people constantly pried into our business constantly and for whatever reason always stirring up conflict and making it uncomfortable for the two of us. It might have been because she was the hottest girl in the office and the other guys were jealous or something but I still don't get why people have to get into other peoples business all the damn time.

Anyways, after that I swore off it but ended up getting together with my now wife so it was never even an option for an issue again

Cool. As long as you keep it separated from work you'll be just fine.

It's best to be careful, but don't always think "no" in this situation. I'd probably pursue something like that with a couple girls I see frequently at work, although they aren't in my department nor do I interact with them work-wise much or at all. Although, I don't go out of my way or anything to try to initiate such a thing at work, definitely not the place. But it's a bit different for you as your original meeting simply came up in conversation.

I am also taking a grad class, I mentioned that I was having trouble with the hw, when she mentioned that she could help. Then, I brought up about where we could meet up, she said her place would work. She just moved in there about 2 weeks ago, said she wanted to show me her place. So, I went there earlier tonight, right after work. We got some pizza, she helped me with the hw, I got it done.

As I was about to leave, she mentioned that she was bored in the evenings, and said I was welcome to come over again, to which I replied she was welcome to come over to my place, to which she said ok. She moved here recently from upstate NY, dont think she knows too many people here. I dont think she has a bf, I havent asked her about one, but hasnt come up in our conversations so far. Wonder if I should pursue this any further. Hmm, as much as I would like to, gotta tread very carefully.

Idiot ... she just wants afriend in town..... and she trusts you. Want to get fired or make for an uncomfortable work environment, make a move on her.

If the relationship ends badly, it can be very uncomfortable working together.

I am dating my gf for 1.5 years now. We met at work... I was her direct supervisor at the time...

Haha. Was against the rules!

Ask her before someone else does. You will be kicking yourself if that happens.

Ask her ASAP, she is clearly into you.

I met my fiance at work. We still work together and plan on doing it for at least a few more years.

Plan on doing it? Do you mean working or 'it'? Because once you're married...

We went out last Friday night to watch an improv show. Both of us had a good time, she said she wanted to watch it again another time. Now, to plan the next time out, debating whether to ask her over at my place, or should we just go out and watch a movie.

Well, she was recently admitted in the RELDP (Rotational Engineering Leadership Development Program), its 3 8-month rotations. So she'll be out of here in 8 months.

If last Fri seemed "dateish" in her manners then I'd invite her over for you to cook dinner, if you know how to cook. If you can't cook going out for dinner with something, maybe a movie, after is probably a good idea.
