If you like the job then do not date her. If you can easily find another job and your employer doesn't care then go for it. When it's over she will haunt you and/or make your life hell until one of you leaves the company. I've seen it happen dozens of times.

Personally, I've always gone with the "Don't sh** where you eat" philosophy of dating coworkers.

So, to continue, she asked me about going to a dance class with her, along with 2 other people (another girl and guy) from work. That was great, had a lot of fun, got to joke around a lot about myself since I suck at dancing, she had fun too. Then, all 4 of us had dinner. The other girl is new too.

After that, I was out of the country for a week due to a business trip. Before I left, we talked, she said she was going hiking, said in a somewhat sad voice she was going by herself. I said that after my trip I could join her, she liked the idea. After I came back, it was easter weekend, she had to meet her parents. So, a few days ago, we talked about hiking, she said yes. We're going hiking this Saturday. She may have been a bit hesitant about going with just me since she said she asked some other people and no one else could make it. But, she is still up for going. We'll be going hiking to NH at Mt. Monadnock, about 1.5 hours from here. So far, I havent shown any interest towards her, might try to push my luck, see how she responds. Its risky, but what the heck, if I dont, I'll be wondering what if.

Well, she just called, we're still on for tomorrow, but she said a friend (guy) just called from NY and is coming down. She said if I wouldnt mind if he came along too, I figured best thing to do was to say yes, so I did. So much for her and I spending some time together alone, oh well. Maybe I'm suspicous, but I doubt he just happened to call and decided to visit her. I have a feeling she asked him to. She did mention earlier that she had asked other people to come along.

My guess is that this guy has expressed interest in her.

I think this is someone she has known from her college days. In that case, she's known him a lot longer than me.

Yeah, well, just my luck. I think I still have a small window, trying to think positive. I havent given up yet, going to try 1 last time about asking her out to dinner next week, see what happens. If not, I'll just move on, plenty of fish out there as others have mentioned. Look a few threads up for her pic.
