Okay, so I went out with my girlfriend last night with my friend and his wife. I was pretty sure that she wasn't the girl for me and I just wanted some verification to that fact. My friend's wife is really honest and tells me like it is. Needless to say, by the end of the night she was unimpressed and felt that aside from being cute that my current girlfriend was boring. I came to this conclusion as well.

Now... I'm not a big dater, nor have I had that many relationships.... I just want to know how to break up with somebody. Any ideas are helpful... I'm not trying to play the part of a jerk, just trying to tell her its not going to work out.

Hmm. Will you see her often once the relationship is over? You don't give many specifics, but it sounds like you think she's nice enough, you're just not interested in her. There's no real "good" way to put that. If it were me, I'd be straight-forward and make a clean break, but this isn't something I have to worry about anymore, so take advice from me with a grain of salt.

So you're dumping her just because she's "boring"? Any specifics on this? Maybe she's just trying to play it safe when it comes to conversations and what you two do together, so as to not put you off. Have you tried letting her know that she can knock it up a notch, and see what happens?

Best to be honest with her. Do it in person. Voice your concerns, tell her you appricate her as a person but you are not feeling that you are compatiable. pretty simple

That's great advice. Don't get specific about why, even if she pushes it. Just tell her you think you're not a good match.

Unless she is a total bitch, she will cry. They always cry. You are basically telling her that she isn't good enough. It's tough for anyone to hear.

You could try to sugar coat it and say that you don't think it would work out long term and that is what you are looking for (a real connection).
