SWEET! Been wanting one of these for a long time. I was going to just get a 9mm upper for my AR cause I need a pisto9l caliber rifle but hell for a few hundred more I can get the MP5. What the hell I figured. So I ordered it 2 weeks ago or so. Just got back from picking it up.

Down side is the company that makes them doesnt have the best track record for reliability or quality. I'll be going out to freeze my ass off and run some rounds through it later today. Hopefully it'll run fine. If not, looks like I'm going to have to put a bit of money into it.

Otherwise its frickin cool. The HK game is an expensive one to play, but well worth it! AR mags are 10-20, HK mags? $65. I guess, you gotta pay to play right?

On a more serious note, nice gun. I shot one of those a while back and it was a blast.

Has to be 16" per Federal Reg's. I could go shorter but then I have to SBR it which requires some paperwork to the ATF along with $200. Additionally I then have to notify the ATF anytime I take it out of the area.

You just need one with a happy switch now.

There is a NFA dealer locally that has a consecuative serialled pair for sale for $18,500 each

Technically no. This is made by Coharie Arms. While the gun is "HK Spec" and can use HK parts its not a true HK per se. The real deal so to speak is vastly more expensive.

A real HK MP5 will be an NFA item.

Yep, the "happy switch" ones are the way to go. I shot one with a supressor a while back and it was hands down one of the most fun guns I've ever shot. Too bad they're so damn expensive.

You could get a GSG-5. A bit expensive for a .22 rifle, but at leats the ammo is cheap.

I just cant stomach spending 500 to shoot .22LR. However, it would be col to have one to set next to this one.

and your point? besides, everyone here makes $500,000 a year at least. $15k is pocket change to an ATOTer.

If you go GSG5, the best thing to do is get the pistol version, SBR it, put a folding stock on it, get the gemtech suppressor adapter, and get a suppressor to put on that thing.

THEN it would be an awesome .22 - but it would also be up in the $1200-1500 range all said and done.
