bob - I dont believe there has been any price increase. Rather suprising to me since everything else has went up! As for ammo I have a Hornady LNL AP in the basement and a kid who likes to reload.

upsciLLion - Actually you can reload steel case. I have some wolf .223 in the Bat Cave (basement) that I've reloaded. They are only good for about 1 time though you cant reload over and over like you can with brass. I havent tried pistol yet so I wont personally speak to that but I believe it would be possible.

RGN - Are you familiar with "speak to your audience"? I'm on a tech forum....If it were a gun forum it would be labeled as it truly is. Otherwise, I'm addressing 50,000 and not the 5 who actualyl know what a CA is.

That thing needs a fake suppressor barrel stat...right now it looks like someone shiskabobbed an mp5.

Transferable....aka....22+ years old.

Again, you cannot find a new production HK MP5 for sale. You have 2 choices. You spend tens of thousands for a 2 decade old gun or you buy a clone. There ARE no current production civilian legal HK MP5's. So you do the next best thing, you buy a "HK MP5" thats built (hopefully) to HK spec but comes from someone else.

Is it a Heckler & Koch MP5? No. But it is built to the same specs, using some HK parts. Its the same as if you bought the components used in a Dell then built it and said "I have a Dell". Ok, you dont have a Dell per se but its the same thing functionally and can use the same parts.

no, i would call it a PC...
you bought a Coharie Arms CA94, not an HK MP5, not even a Coharie Arms MP5.
you could say Caharie Arms CA94, an HK MP5 clone.

Also, why the hell would you buy from "a company with an at best sketchy track record."?

No one else makes an MP5 clone.

Wrong, Vector does

http://www.eastcoastfirearms.c...ld_id=142&is_gallery=1

so does professional arms.
i think there might be a few others.

i MIGHT (not very likely though) buy something safe from a "sketchy at best" manufacture but I wouldn't buy something like a gun from a "sketchy at best" manufacturer, even if they were the only ones making it.

op - did the price go up since the election? i haven't followed prices on these particular types of firearms and was wondering if you had to pay an inflated price over pre-election prices?

go shooting and have some fun, and how about some range pics? and don't worry about the dog - i have two toy poodles - my wife is allergic to dogs so we went w/ them. after 10+yrs, the little guys still have a lot of life in them, besides, i don't need a dog to protect me, just alert me

decent deal on 1k rnds of 9mm - i have dealt w/ these guys w/ 5.56 and had no problems at all - fast shipping to AZ

I picked up the same ammo (american eagle) 9mm 115 grain for 8.99 a box, so 235 for 1000 isn't that good of a deal.
at least if my math is right. 20 boxes of 50.

recently? if so, link please? seems like everywhere i had looked it was higher even before shipping but 8.99/box i could put some away for a....well, won't go there.... any deals on 45acp? need some more of that too

Dick's stores in central PA used to have it for 8.99 a box if you bought a case but now it's
up to 9.99 i think.

SWEET! Been wanting one of these for a long time. I was going to just get a 9mm upper for my AR cause I need a pisto9l caliber rifle but hell for a few hundred more I can get the MP5. What the hell I figured. So I ordered it 2 weeks ago or so. Just got back from picking it up.

Down side is the company that makes them doesnt have the best track record for reliability or quality. I'll be going out to freeze my ass off and run some rounds through it later today. Hopefully it'll run fine. If not, looks like I'm going to have to put a bit of money into it.

It's not made by H&K?

Technically no. This is made by Coharie Arms. While the gun is "HK Spec" and can use HK parts its not a true HK per se. The real deal so to speak is vastly more expensive.

That's the only way I'd buy an HK type gun. I will never give them a damn penny. I can't stand companies that hate the people that buy their product.

Now someone needs to make a G36 clone.
Now that would be awesome.

"Sketchy at best" meaning it may or may not work correctly, but its safe. Biggest thing seems to be failure to feed or extract which takes some new springs. Now my buddy also ordered the same rifle I did and picked his up a few hours after me and he is missing a pin on his rear sight. Rather then stop at the peep holes when spun the rear sight just keeps goin round and round. An example of "sketchy". The gun works, its just the QC sucked because they didnt notice a frickin missing pin on the rear sight!

If you wanted a 9mm carbine, did you consider a Beretta CX4 Storm? I picked one up a few months ago. 200 rounds later and I love it.

3-4 round burst is VERY accurate. At 20-25 yards with only one prior experience with it, I could place all rounds of a burst in the upper torso of a man-sized target.

VERY, VERY fun weapon to use. That long barrel does make it look odd though, like those long barrel Uzis I've seen before. Congrats on the Christmas present though!

Get a real dog.
