Again, you cannot find a new production HK MP5 for sale. You have 2 choices. You spend tens of thousands for a 2 decade old gun or you buy a clone. There ARE no current production civilian legal HK MP5's. So you do the next best thing, you buy a "HK MP5" thats built (hopefully) to HK spec but comes from someone else.

Is it a Heckler & Koch MP5? No. But it is built to the same specs, using some HK parts. Its the same as if you bought the components used in a Dell then built it and said "I have a Dell". Ok, you dont have a Dell per se but its the same thing functionally and can use the same parts.

how is that even close?

Because according to the colt kool-aid drinkers, anything but a colt is not a "true" AR, since it is the only one marked "AR-15" on the receiver. Everything else would be considered a clone to them, even though an LMT or Noveske is far superior in terms of quality.

However, I would tell someone that I have a DPMS AR15..not a Colt, so it's not entirely a fair comparison.

Jesus. Didn't realize the thread would turn into this. It's not like the OP is going around rubbing it in everyone's face that he has an actual production HK MP5. He's made it quite clear what gun it is.

Anyway, pretty cool stuff dude. I needs to get me some firearms.

I thought this was going to be a thread about a Harmon Kardon amp. I thought maybe you were plying the White Album or something.

"Walk a mile..."

Its easy to flame me for not having the real thing, a true honest to God MP5. Of course those who do have probably never tried to acquire one of their own and realize how difficult it is. You either need a damn trunk full of cash or you have to settle for buying something from a company with an at best sketchy track record. Seeing as I dont seel drugs and my last name isnt Kennedy.....

So I only have 2 more guns to get to have every gun I wanted as a child. I need a Steyr Aug, and a Dragunov (SVD Tiger, not the $800 knockoffs).

One step at a time....... The SVD will be by far the most difficult to find, and the most expensive.

no, i would call it a PC...
you bought a Coharie Arms CA94, not an HK MP5, not even a Coharie Arms MP5.
you could say Caharie Arms CA94, an HK MP5 clone.

Also, why the hell would you buy from "a company with an at best sketchy track record."?

Funny thing that.

Vector buys the guns from the guy who owns Coharie Arms. And Vector doesnt offer the MP5 clones. Lastly, Vector is undergoing some....restructuring......right now.

Again, you have 2 choices. Pony up tens of thousands or buy from Coharie...formerly known as Bobcat...Formerly known as Special Weapons....Formerly known as......

Yup...what he said. It's the only show in town....and has been. I think we all know this however...or at least we should. Love it or not...that's the way it is.

op - did the price go up since the election? i haven't followed prices on these particular types of firearms and was wondering if you had to pay an inflated price over pre-election prices?

go shooting and have some fun, and how about some range pics? and don't worry about the dog - i have two toy poodles - my wife is allergic to dogs so we went w/ them. after 10+yrs, the little guys still have a lot of life in them, besides, i don't need a dog to protect me, just alert me

decent deal on 1k rnds of 9mm - i have dealt w/ these guys w/ 5.56 and had no problems at all - fast shipping to AZ

I picked up the same ammo (american eagle) 9mm 115 grain for 8.99 a box, so 235 for 1000 isn't that good of a deal.
at least if my math is right. 20 boxes of 50.

thanks, i like to at least get brass for reloading - don't do it myself but have some friends that do. so much is all sold, man, seems like the one of the industries that is really thriving atm is the gun biz, and that is because of the possible sad outcome here coming towards us....

I don't believe steel-cased ammo can be reloaded.

SWEET! Been wanting one of these for a long time. I was going to just get a 9mm upper for my AR cause I need a pisto9l caliber rifle but hell for a few hundred more I can get the MP5. What the hell I figured. So I ordered it 2 weeks ago or so. Just got back from picking it up.

Down side is the company that makes them doesnt have the best track record for reliability or quality. I'll be going out to freeze my ass off and run some rounds through it later today. Hopefully it'll run fine. If not, looks like I'm going to have to put a bit of money into it.

It's not made by H&K?

Technically no. This is made by Coharie Arms. While the gun is "HK Spec" and can use HK parts its not a true HK per se. The real deal so to speak is vastly more expensive.

That's the only way I'd buy an HK type gun. I will never give them a damn penny. I can't stand companies that hate the people that buy their product.

Now someone needs to make a G36 clone.
