Without reading God knows how many pages...

Well, YOU initiated this "break". Maybe in the time when YOU were taking a break from her she realized how much she really didnt mean to you and went elsewhere.

If someone is really important to you you dont "take a break" from them. If someone isnt important to you you dont "take a break" from them. You either stay, or you go. "Taking a break" means "I'm tired of you, but nothing else is out there and I dont want to be alone".

EXACTLY! couldnt agree more! She is deluding herself, protecting conciones by thinking she didn't leave me for him. That IS the reason she did it...its so apperant.

Then let her be deluded. It's not your problem any more. You're fooling yourself if you think she's going to see it your way.

Dude... you said you cut her off but then you read her text message??? Failure!
Seriously cut off means just that cut off totally. Don't answer her calls, listen to her messages, read her texts, nothing. If she wants to talk to you make her track you down in person. This will also help you in filing stalking charges later if need be. Things like this will upset most women. Had the same thing happened to me I'd make sure the girl felt like a dirty rag that got tossed out.

What-cha-think?

Dont even give her the satisfaction. Cut off ALL communication. Just let her stew in her own thoughts. Thats what im trying to do now. Day 6 and counting...good luck and stay strong.

Dude, you think my ex is stewing.....naw, she is infatuated with this new guy. I saw what they typed to each other in their texts to one another. No "stewing" there. My direction now is to continue to become the most sucessful man I can be so that one day, far in the future, I will see her and she will realize how much she missed out on. By that time though I wont care much about what she thinks. . .but that's just the way it works, huh.

You may think that, or feel that, but i have been through these things ~a dozen times and they stew, trust me. The girl i was dating before the girl im talking about called me a couple months after the break and was regretful, sad, etc, and wanted to get back together. Sorry babe, i moved on == satisfaction. She will stew, trust me.

I hear what your saying, but again, I'm not too sure stewing is going to occur. She is a long term relationship person...she's going to be with this new guy for some time. While with this guy, her mind is going to be occupied with him. Thoughts of me will be the farthest thing from her mind.

Although, that would be pretty sweet if she did call me back in a couple of months, just so I could explain I have moved on. Sigh, that would be prime.

I have been fed the lines "he reminds me of my brother" and "I wouldnt mind having a few months to myself" before. From experience, I now know to quickly get rid of someone if they say that.

The "I wouldn't mind having a few months to myself" in my experiences always comes before the "oh, he's just like a brother to me". I got the whole like a brother crap the same night she told me everyone at her work thought she was dating him. WTF?

Women are tools.

"I just want to become the most successful person I can be so one day she can look back and see what she missed!"

Oh PUH-LEESE!

One day, two years from now, after she gets out of rehab and she's got no friends...she'll pick up some guy at a bar just b/c he's wearing pants and looks like he could afford to buy her breakfast in the morning. She won't remember you or the other 23 guys she's borked.

Then, a year after that, she'll clean up, cut her hair short, start going to church, meet some farm boy without a clue, settle down, get married and make babies. She'll never acknowledge her past life or even remember who the hell you were, Emo Boy.

You are a pathetic young man who's pride is so hurt right now that he's sitting in the corner, covering his wee-wee, lest he be ashamed.

*shrug* You'll get over it. Or you'll just become some fashion dude of questionable sexuality and carry Elton John's bags when he travels.

Get over it, Emo.

Whatever man. You are quite obviously speaking out your A**. You know nothing of what happened and don't care. . .you just want to kick someone while they are down to make yourself feel better. Quite immature if you ask me.

you wanted a break first, this is completely your fault.

when my GF asked for a break i told her if she does, we're through. she hung up. not 5 min later called back crying about how she was sorry and didnt want a break and wanted me to forget she even mentioned it.

What others have said here is the best advice. Forget her, don't contact her, don't drive by her house and stay as far away from her as you can. She will notice that you aren't there for her and that she has no safety net to fall back on if the new bf doesn't work out.

I was in the same situation many many years ago, and about 8 months after breaking off contact with a long time gf, i happened to drive by her in a parking lot at the university. I saw her first and drove by without making eye contact and pretended she wasn't there. Sure it was childish and immature (I was young and immature), but it felt great to ignore a girl who had caused me so much pain. Sure enough, two days later she called me and wanted to meet for coffee. I simply told her that I wasn't interested and I had more important things to do.

I puked in my mouth a little bit when I read this.

You are a rookie. Don't worry about it though. Just don't rinse and repeat
