Hasnt this issue been argued enough times already?
Having a rotten useless gun is NOT better than nothing.

Well, I've owned other rotten useless guns. This one just sits in my gun safe and it was cheap. Kind of a novelty gun I guess. I can throw it in a coat pocket if I feel the need so I'll probably keep it. Not really too worried about the big bad jelly man trying to do me harm so it will probably just stay in the safe until I get rid of it or I die.

I've only shot it once even though I've owned it for a few years. It's a miserable little gun to shoot.

Plus side of the gun show is that found a nice local place. The people were really nice. What's up with the nazi memorabilia at shows? Really?!

How do you ladies like the 9915E 9mm baby eagle?

Depends. A scant few gun stores are run by people with Nazi sympathies, but most of the time that stuff's there for collectors. Say what you will about the Nazis, they had some groundbreaking and very cool gun designs.

ie: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/StG_44

The StG 44 (Sturmgewehr 44, literally "storm (or assault) rifle (model of 19)44") was an assault rifle developed in Nazi Germany during World War II that was the first of its kind to see major deployment and is considered by many historians to be the first modern assault rifle.

As for the Baby Desert Eagle, it's ok. I don't like slide mounted safeties (can interfere with racking the slide traditionally) and honestly, if you're going to get a 9mm there are cheaper and IMO better options. It may not be as flashy or unique, but honestly for a 9 I'd just go with a full sized Glock, M&P, XD, whichever. Something with a proven track record that doesn't cost too much. You simply can't go wrong. Glock especially has mucho accessories.

A Sig P226 is more expensive (although you might save a decent chunk if you can find a used one) but classier IMO and would still be an excellent choice.

Thanks for the info. However, i really didn't see a lot of guns (if any) at that booth. It was mostly patches, badges, old nazi postage stamps, helmets, and so on and so forth.

Anyone have any objections to me buying a CZ 75B? Seems to be a great gun, and it felt pretty comfortable in my hand. Not too heavy. Wish the grip was a tad narrower and maybe even shorter though. There were some other guns that were more comfortable, but i'd not heard of them or they weren't what i was looking for.

Well the patches and everything are still collectable. I knew a guy who collected WWII helmets and had a ridiculous amount, Nazi included. Or maybe you found one of the rare neo-nazi gun shops. We've got a guy around here who's clearly something of a passive racist (he'll serve non-white customers but he's a lot more curt with them, perfectly friendly to white people). Thankfully he's only one booth out of about 40 at the local gun show, he has a good chunk of Nazi stuff.

I've never shot a CZ 75B, but I've heard nothing but good about them. It lacks an accessory rail, so you'd have a hard time mounting lights/lasers/whatever if you ever decide to go that route (although Crimson Trace makes grip-mounted lasers for it). Other than that, I'd say it's a solid choice. And there are those who disagree with putting a light on a gun for various reasons. *shrug* Like everything in the gun world, it's a trade-off.

Most pointless gun in the CZ range, IMO. Regular SP-01 and SP-01 Shadow can do everything the Tacticool can, but can also be used "full single action" mode.

The only thing the Tacticool has going for it is the ability to decock the gun with a single button press. I only see a point to this when rules or regulations force you to decock (not an issue unless you compete), and I don't see it as substantially easier than manually decocking the other guns. The manual decocking quickly becomes a reflexive action if you have a use for it; I have never had a problem decocking the Shadow even under competition stress.

I think the the basic CZ75, SP-01, or SP-01 Shadow are all good choices at different price points. The Shadow has better accuracy and a substantially better trigger than the others, but triggers on all of these guns can be improved by a gunsmith.

I love my sp01 shadow. Trigger is incredibly light in sa mode.

Smith & Wesson and Sig are two of the largest and oldest firearm manufacturers in the world. You were expecting different?

And having just gotten a Model 29 and a Model 58 serviced by S&W, they are AMAZING. I complained about damage to the notches of the cylinder, they replaced the cylinders (on both) and then serviced other issues. Week turnaround time. Buy an S&W and forget that Ruger exists.

PSA the .32 is not a good self defense round. You might scare someone off if they arent looking for trouble but statistically you wont drop a grown man with it.

Having said that I noticed a 1903 up at my local place yesterday and may get it just for the range.

What does a m1903 have to do with .32 (.30-06 right?) Also, .32 and .380 are worthless rounds, IMO. Get at least a 9mm or don't waste your money.

Oh, and if you do mean an M1903, where did you see one? The gun range near me just put one up...you anywhere near Bellevue, WA?

And I'd draw the line for defensive purposes at .380 if we're talking carry guns. It's not the best, but for those of us who pocket carry it's by far the best option IMO. My home defense is .45 ACP.

Sorry this response is late, missed this reply. Indy Trading Post. Really nice guys. Zx guns (sp?) and fort liberty were the other ones I saw with CZs, but they're a lot further from me.

Also, thanks for the generous offer! How far are you from Indianapolis?

Those are all good places. Stay away from Dons Guns and Pops guns.

2 hours north of you.
