I suppose I should specify $.50 for 9mm reloads is crazy. I haven't been to the range in a while and don't even want to know what they're charging for reloads. But, shop around some and be patient. I recently scored 357mag and 45acp for $.50 a round for standard FMJ stuff. Not complaining.

I scored hornady hollow point .45's for .50 a round a while back online, I get my fmj .45 at wally 250 rounds for $95, when they're in stock

That's a great price. I hardly ever go to wally world and unfortunately the one that's "on the way home" doesn't sell ammo.

Yeah i check stock at all of the ones close to me pretty much daily and grab it when I can, 100 round boxes of 9mm show up now and then for $23 too

Damn, showing in stock right now even...BRB

Crap...missed the 9mm by a few minutes, got 3 more boxes of .45 though so it wasn't a waste of time:awe:

Well it had been over two weeks since I my Ruger SR22 in to be worked on. This was also a brand new gun out of the box. They told me a two week or less turn around time so I decided to call. I just got off the phone and they told me it was finally fixed and would be shipping out today. I asked what was fixed and was told the barrel had to be replaced. That the inside of the barrel had been damaged and it was causing the shots to shoot to the left every shot. The CSR didn't go into detail what exactly was damaged with the barrel, but it seems strange that a brand new gun off the truck from a retail store had internal barrel damage.

Could have been a bit cutter on the machine making their barrels. Or accidentally bumping the machine. No like it would take to much to throw shots to the left or right.

I'm still waiting on a order of 20 Gen M3 Window pmags from Brownells to add to about 40 or so various Gen M2 mags.

Funny thing the 3rd gen mags were the first I ordered, and I grabbed anything else I could find here and there just in case something got rammed through and my order didn't make it on time and had to be canceled or something.

Bumping the machine isn't going to do anything. A broaching machine or button ram is pretty heavy duty. Walking into a mill machine like that will just leave you with bruised toes, knees, and a black eye, the machine isn't going to budge.

Even if it moved, those things are so heavy and precise there wouldn't be ANY relative movement between the locked in work piece or parts of the machine.

I'm guessing foreign debris on/in the rifling machinery found it's way into a barrel or damaged broach/button. Or possibly improper stress relief/heat treating after rifling caused it to warp.

My uncle offered to sell me all his 1911 parts and tooling. Didn't say how much but said he would give me a good deal. We're still building my 1911. Taking a long time because one of us would be sick, bad weather, busy with other stuff, and his failing health (which is why he is selling off stuff).

I'd love to have all that stuff and become like a 1911 gunsmith, but don't have the funds right now to buy it because it's gotta be worth several hundred dollars or more. Plus I don't have a mill, lathe, etc that might be needed to do certain things (and again, no funds to buy it). I also don't have the funds to be buying more frames and parts to build more 1911s, and I'd need a FFL to sell them anyway.

A forklift bumping a cnc machine is going to be enough to knock a barrel enough to do what Humble experienced. A person walking into it...not the CNC machines ruger uses. And yes bumping it from a forklift is enough to knock things out a few thousands (trust me i know from experience) .

But debris or just a plain bad bit is more likely. But like you mentioned it could be one of a few things, or even multiple things.

Either way the key is Ruger fixes it which it sounds like they have

Brownells delivered my 20 BattleMags today; I ordered last week.

Give Troy BattleMags a try; they are pretty darn good.

I love the Troy's. I've used them since they first came out. A pair of coupled PMAGs ride primary on my rifle but four Battlemags ride back-up in the mag carrier, they are easier to remove due to the slimmer profile. They have been 100% reliable as well.

I went to the range yesterday with my brother and they happened to have a crate of Mosins in the store so he picked up a nice 1941 Tula manufactured m91/30 with matching numbers. The gun is in incredible condition considering it's age, once the stock is refinished it will look like it is brand new.

boomhower did you ever find anyone to design that logo or whatever on your lower?

I am going to use one of the ones the Lemon guy on redit did. It's certainly close enough. Trying decide on a quote for the other side. Haven't got the email asking for the designs yet but they are supposed to be done by June so hopefully it will be sometime soon.

I have a 1944 M91/30 from Izhevsk that's in great condition for its age. I also stripped and restained the stock in I think Golden Oak (I think that's it, I wanted a light color). Looks great now and it was an easy job.

Shooting guns is operationally the same as appreciating a watch.

Just so you understand the psychology behind it all.

I personally find bows and arrows to be more fun.
