Cabelas in Boise ID had a couple of take downs in stock last Thursday, so they are indeed around if you keep your eyes peeled for one.
I picked up a 10/22 Takedown. I LOVE the rifle. It's really a lot of fun to shoot and I love how small it gets being able to take it apart. Carrying tons of rifles when I'm out on the ranch pretty much sucks, takes up a lot of room. This thing I can pack about anywhere.
I highly recommend a 10/22.
If you're patient you can get one retail and just check cabela's for ammo. I don't rush purchases on this stuff and never pay ridiculous prices from private sellers or places like CTD.
Hell,l I picked up the 10/22 TD on sale at Big 5 during the height of all this BS. Just be patient and you'll get a good deal. If you're itching and can't control yourself, well, you'll pay for it then.
Bought this today... Both for shooting holes in paper at the range and for home defense.
After shooting a Glock G21, a Springfield XD 45ACP, and a 1911 at the range, and after holding a Sig P220, I decided to pick up a Kimber Eclipse Custom II as a first handgun. It felt the best in my hands and was by far the most accurate at the range of the ones I tried. I'm now a 1911 fan, and I'm looking forward to having a lot of fun with this.
I decided on the .45ACP because I want a firearm with plenty of stopping power in the case that certain meth addicts again decide they need my stuff more than I do. If I'm only allowed a max of 10 rounds, then I want 10 large rounds to make them count.
Very nice eclipse. Mine is in 10mm, and it is also damn accurate and wonderful to shoot, even with full power 10mm loads.
Now all you need to do is get some real magazines for it.

Nice weapon! My Wilsons will be here probably later this week, before I can take the firearm home. Also coming are a Comp-Tac belt holster and separate mag holder, plenty of standard rounds for the range plus some hollowpoints for any home invading meth addicts.
Have you found it hard to find 10mm rounds?

someone posted a great looking holster that basically covered the gun grip and clipped on the inside of your belt ... it was a gen 2 of the product, the first was basically a cord with a smaller version of the clip, anyone know what that was called?

My next handgun will be a XD45. I like the ammo capacity for a home defense weapon and the muscle memory is already there with my XD 9mm. Feels like same gun, just heavier and bigger bullet.
Sadly, ammo capacity doesn't really apply here in Kalifornia since we're limited to 10 anyway. I liked the XD better than the Glock, but the 1911 won me over

fuck, had to put away 7-9 loaded weapons placed throughout the house and leave the wife with her's and an AR as the only ones at the ready.

I'm more disturbed by the fact that he said 7-9 rather than 7 or 9. You should know exactly how many loaded weapons there are, and where they are.
It was like vi2 or something like that ...
