The best way to diagnose flinching is to have a buddy load several snap caps at random points in a magazine. Pay attention to what you're doing each time you pull the trigger. if the gun moves when you hit one of the snap caps, you're flinching.

Dry firing is great for smoothing out an action, building muscle memory, and mastering a trigger. It's an essential part of training IMO.

i had a buddy do that to me this past weekend.

i pulled up every time i pulled the trigger to account for the recoil. still need to work that kink out, but it's nice to know that that's one of the things that is affect my accuracy.

As long as you aren't aiming haphazardly, sure.

Again, it's a cost issue, if money is no object then I am sure dry-firing would be laughed at. Also I am sure most are not really dry-firing. I don't know of anyone I know that can honestly say they are taking each shot like they are at the range. Especially if you are just shooting things in your living room while watching The Simpsons.

When my dad was young and in the army as a marksman, if he wanted ammo to shoot; they gave it to him.
Give it a break will you. You are wrong, again. Go back to L&R or the Garage and flex your alpha shit there.

One thing that cured my flinch-recoil was to pull the trigger slowly pretending I was bending a thin glass rod not exactly knowing when it would break, all while keeping a steady clear sight picture.

Also, dry firing with a laser equipped helps you see the dynamics of your trigger pull as you watch the behavior of the last four on your wall.

Will be picking up my new 9mm sp2022 next Tuesday. Damn Ca 10 day waiting period. It came with a Sig laser but will probably pick up a Streamlight TLR-2 later on. I'll probably get the Sig level 2 retention holster that fits a light attached so that it'll fit the laser right now and then the light when I get one.

Just thought I'd share.

Anyone use, or know someone who's used this..

http://www.amazon.com/G-P-S-GPS-1711...range+backpack

I'm interested in switching to a backpack vs the range bag I have now, as it'll be easier to carry, but am concerned about space.

That design seems really nice! Hrmm, I was considering creating my own backpack for disc golf, but I would have way too much extra material left over from the min order of fabric I wanted. Now I have another backpack idea to try to redo based on this for a nice range bag backpack. Cool!

I love the concept for the design, I just don't know how well it works. I don't want to loose a ton of space that I could use for ammo.

Any idea how many handguns you usually bring to the range? I just use the midwayusa shoulder range bag. The center portion has two slim sections for handguns and a central portion that holds two ear muffs and two glasses. An outer section holds magazines, 4 boxes of ammo, and tools. Another outer section holds a gun rug And target stickers.

I've been looking at 5.11, maxpedition brand backpacks but they are pretty expensive.

While not a range bag the Maxpedition Lunada makes an excellent daily carry bag. The way it is carried makes it very easy to twist it to remove your handgun from the back of it.

Honestly it really depends on who's with me. If it's just me I normally take one pistol as I'm working on something. I do have a bunch of friends that I take out to the range who don't have firearms of their own, or want to shoot something different. I could see myself using the bag's slots. Just not everytime...

Pro tip: if you carry IWB, bring another gun besides your carry gun to the range. I didn't things all the way through my first trip to the range after I got my cpl

Ok guys...I'm ready to do this.

Can anyone find a better deal on a new p226 than the one I posted? Night sights are a must.

$823 isn't bad.

But I did find a couple of the Seal 20 round models for sale locally.

I really wish I could see these face to face.

Got a new one on the way. Sold my Sig P938, just wasn't reliable enough and I hated the safety. Ordered a Glock 27. Not a huge fan of the trigger but they've always been dead nuts reliable for me. Should have it by the end of the week.

Love my 26. I wish I was accurate with .40 but I am not.

Yay California </sarcasm>. Been thinking about getting a 1911 (because 1911) but since pretty much none of the goods ones are on roster it'd have be through the single shot exemption which will probably disappear here in another 3 months. And then because nothing is still in stock now I'm pretty much boned on even getting what I want through SSE. I clearly should have thought this through more seriously over a year ago.

*sadface*

Oh well, guess I'll just take comfort in getting more lowers while I can.

Why stop there? May as well go with the set with the 224, 228 and 229 so you have the sequence. Going to be an expensive set though. But with that many you can try out the different triggers; DA/SA, DAK, SRT etc.
