I wouldn't call risking spending the rest of your life in prison a "minor issue." Honestly I think a semi-auto Mac 10 clone is a bad idea functionally, and I think any gun needlessly adorned with skulls is a bad idea as a policy matter. This is just the kind of gun that feeds into the fears of anti-gun people - that thing looks like it was purpose-built for drive-by shootings.

I have to agree. That kind of weapon just screams "I'm a murderer". Plus its ugly as shit.

Not necessarily horrible, the 5.7 is greatly misunderstood though.

ftfy. However; penetration is not so much a factor with heavier calibers. Get hit with some of the bigger calibers and it more than likely would stop your heart from the concussion.

Armor piercing rounds are not the same as rounds that can penetrate body armor.

Level IIIA sure, but not Level III multi-hit, stand alone armor. Or if you use a good Level III plate in conjunction with a IIIA soft carrier.

Sure you might need to step up to Level IV plate to stop certain specialty AP and API rounds, but at that point you've got bigger worries...

Additionally on AP ammo: 5.7 AP ammo does NOT fit the ATF's definition of what AP ammo is. So while handgun AP ammo is illegal to sell or manufacture for civilians (doesn't appear to be illegal to posses it, but one wonders how you would have gotten it) the 5.7 green tipped ammo while being marketed as being able to penetrate armor...is NOT AP ammo in the BATFE's rather limited view.

That site also says the SS190 rounds can penetrate 3A body armor.

I in no way bought it for a primary "self defense" weapon so take note that is well taken care of with several other choices in my possesion...

As for ugly...? That may be in some eye's but to me most any unique weapon has its own appeal and I did a lot of investigating about this weapon before I even considered it... One of the considerations was I like the 5.7X28 caliber period and for less than half the price of a FN57 I can have a bit more fun with it... As for the reliability of this weapon why not take a break and check reviews...?

Just note its not what everything else looks like in the safe...

Oh and nothing beats a 50 bmg slug @ 3000 ft per sec and 14,000 ft lbs of energy (hey exdeath just call it a Diesel powered projectile)...

May God help you if you ever have to use that gun in self-defense and there is any question whatsoever about whether it was justified. The prosecutor will have a field day waving it in front of the jury.

He specifically called it a "toy" so I'd assume he's not using it as his primary self defense weapon. However, should the world as we know it end, I wouldn't question its use in a post-apocalyptic scenario

Plus, we've all gotta have at least one "just because" weapon in our safes.

I don't base weapons purchases based on what ignorant jurors wpuld do.

Ah Winchester... That was my first thought after looking at the stock but the back part of the action said Browning...

So why is it called a "Trench Gun"...? Was it a lug it everywhere through the trenches type of gun...?

I recently bought a Winchester model 1300 (Black Shadow) on a whim that was new and unfired in the sleeve case for $200... Seemed like a good buy and was my first shotgun to own for some time since an old hammer type double barrel that I had in my teens...
