Haha, did you not just read his intense hatred and complete lack of understanding about why people stipple their plastic pistols?
Um, lack of understanding? Lack of understanding for why anyone would be dumb enough to ruin the value of a polymer-framed gun and not even bother doing a good job of it, yeah.
FYI, stippling started with wood, and was done with a hammer and a nail, or some other pointy object. Past that, I've seen it (and done it) on plastic grips with a hot iron. As in, removable grips, that is.
Doing it to a non-replaceable serialed polymer frame is fucking dumb, sorry. Past that, if you think the execution of the 'stippling' in the link I posted is not horrible...well, you're probably butthurt because your gun(s) look similar. Sorry for your loss.
Don Vito- I didn't make those, unfortunately. I considered it, especially since I could make the backstrap to fit my hand. But I didn't have it in me to devote the time to another set, so I paid the $65 and got Hogues. I did specifically get the smooth ones so I could modify them if I so desired, though. I'll probably sand them a bit and oil them. The waxed finish doesn't give the grain any 'pop.'
They'll stay smooth, though. The only place I like any roughness is on the front of the grip.
