Thought I'd some of the shorties for posterity.
Ruger Blackhawk .357, Colt King Cobra .357, S&W 38 Special, H&R .22, Browning .22 Semi, Thomson Center Arms Contender, .223 barrel and a Paccy grip for weight one a .22 barrel for competition shooting, but not been used in ages.
I think my personal favorite that old King Cobra myself.
How to fire a Taurus, http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=a84_1395261848
What was the cause?
What seemed odd to me was that the pictured issue would seem to indicate two different malfunctions. One being a defective firing pin block, and the other being a problem with the sear.
I wasn't saying Taurus was good, just that they seem to fall into the category of used, abused firearms that don't really scream 'Saturday night special' so much as just 'wore the hell out.'
Kinda like Beretta...who is a LOT better; but the M9 and related gets a bad rap from those issued one in the military after it's shot many thousands of rounds without proper maintenance, not to mention being used by Private Dickfingers to hammer tent pegs or some shit. Of course it's a piece of crap at that point.
I like the looks of that, looks like my 38 Special with the King Cobra grips on it.Picked this up on Friday, got to shoot it on Saturday. Definitely very happy with it (and the deal I got). Should make a fantastic backup carry gun or lazy day carry gun.
Ruger LCRx, 38spl +P
Like most makers of cheaper guns, Taurus is less a bad manufacturer than a victim of its target demographic.
That pistol is obviously beat to shit, and anyone with half a grain of sense would get it repaired before sticking live ammo in the goddamn thing. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that it had been 'worked on' by an idiot who either assembled it wrong or tried to modify it.
Also of note, it's too bad that the cop didn't shoot himself in the face.
Went to a gunshow this morning. $5 to get in. Not much going on. 5.56/.223 was about $0.50 per round and 9 mm was about $0.40 per round (brass, not steel).
.22 LR bricks (525 rounds) were about $60 each. There were a few AK 47 style rifles (generic brand - GCS) but in .22 LR caliber for $550 each, very nice. If they were 7.62 x 39, I would take one home. Stripped lowers were $100 each, DPMS complete uppers for $600 each.
I currently do not have any Rugers, my father had a nice stainless Mini-14 .223 I asked him about before he passed away, but unfortunately he'd sold it.
It's pretty comfortable to hold and shoot, plus it's super easy to carry. I had to decide between that and a Smith and Wesson Airweight, the Ruger was just nice (and cheaper)I like the looks of that, looks like my 38 Special with the King Cobra grips on it.

Wish I'd grabbed that thing used to shoot it quite a bit.
Heh forgot to take the cap off?
I cleaned my AR-15 and AR-10 this weekend. Really debating putting the Trijicon Accupoint 3x9x40 on my AR-15 and selling the Eotech 556. Then getting an upto 20x for my AR-10. I found an outdoor range in MN that has a 400 meter range. Or maybe Ill just keep the Eotech. Just like not needing a battery for my optics.
More like I didn't realize it was a cap I kept twisting it thinking it was a dial lol

I'm not a Beretta fan AT ALL, but comparing them to Taurus is pretty unfair. Beretta is known for having at least acceptable levels of quality control, customer service, and overall quality.
Taurus has none of those, just because they "copy" a lot of Beretta's designs doesn't mean they should be lumped together.

this... look at how worn that thing is. i know taurus doesn't have a great reputation but we need more details on this.
Apparently I'm just a 'Taurus fanboy' according to someone above.
Despite the fact that I would never buy a Taurus nor recommend one, as there is better out there for the money. They're just not the utter trash that some people make them out to be. I'd certainly rank them over, say, SCCY or some of the other newer American manufacturers of cheap pocket crap. But below a lot of other foreign clone manufacturers.
...that's probably their biggest issue, really. They DON'T clone enough...they try and 'innovate' in a market segment where reliable copies would be much wiser.
