Just picked up a standard blue box SIG P220 with 3 8-round mags for $500. Non-rail, made in Germany, really clean for its age (almost as good as my last CPO P220).

Wow I like that one.

But I'll stick with the 125 grain jacketed hollow points in the .357's.

That's pretty sweet looking if I was looking for a .45 ACP these days, but the Dan Wesson did too.

I'm pretty much done buying guns these days I think, but I still like to look.

I still wish I hadn't sold my Browning Gold Medallion 7MM Magnum years ago, or let my second wife keep the really sweet 9 shot American Standard .22 dual cylinder .22, .22 Magnum years ago my biggest regrets.

What a retarded article. 'Dudes, the P220 is totally the best .45 out there. Better than the 1911.'

...are you fucking retarded, article writer? Do you realize the vast number of 1911's out there? That there's not a big factory out there just making 'the' 1911?

He might as well be proposing that the Honda Accord is better than the Four Door Sedan. Doesn't matter if it's an AMG Mercedes or a Chevy Cavalier...nope, I totally think the Honda Accord is the superior car, brah.

I agree it's a stupidly simplistic article, but in fairness there are some common operating attributes to true 1911s that a person might like or dislike, whether we're talking about a Norinco or a Les Baer. Personally, if I were picking a .45 combat pistol (which is his apparent objective), I'd have a hard time picking anything other than a Glock 21 or 41. They may be boring and un-pretty, but they're also light, high in capacity, bulletproof, and reasonably accurate.

Can you guys recommend an OWB holster for a Sig P226? I prefer a kydex for range use.

Does anyone know where I can buy a replacement barrel for a HK Mark 23?

CA doesn't allow threaded barrels. So rather than mangle the original barrel, I'd rather hack the tip off a new one.

Best place for HK parts, hkparts.net. Looks like they are out of the US version but they do have the German version. Not sure what the difference is though.

I can't seem to find a model for my gun. Also anything special about these that are worth the cost?

Lifetime warranty and they mean it as they have no conditions as to how it broke or why. They just replace it. They are modular and have multiple accessories so you can carry OWB/IWB/Crossdraw etc and can connect multiple magazine carriers together with light holders etc. They are made fully in the USA, even the eyelets, rubber washers, injection molding media, materials, all the metal treatments are done in the USA too.

Use the following link and select the model you have. You need to specify if you have a rail or not.

Thanks for the link. This is where I went http://raven-concealment-systems1.mybigcommerce.com/sig-sauer-phantom-modular-holster/ and I didn't see one for my gun.

That looks like the same thing you can get from a number 'holster companies' that based out of some dude's house.

Don't get me wrong- a lot of those dudes are really good at what they do...but they don't charge $80 for a couple pieces of kydex and some belt clips. Kholsters are $40-50, as an example. Those are IWB's, though.

Are you wanting a concealable OWB or just a normal 'duty' holster? If the latter, I'd just buy a serpa style holster. Less wear to the gun and easier draw.

Yeah, they do seem a little expensive. Can you link a concealable OWB?

You keep thinking that they are the same. The workmanship, molding, warranty, testing etc are way above other kydex on the market. There is a reason guys like Larry Vickers and Chris Costa use them and recommend them in their classes. There are some operators overseas who use RCS holsters too.

I am apparently in the market for the same thing as Bird. TN is getting very close to alloying open carry. Currently I have a Galco IWB and a Safariland IWB for my P239. Gonna go ahead and add something similar but in paddle form, and be happy if this law passes.

Probably just buy a Fobus.

Who in their right mind would ever want to actually open carry? I'll take concealed carry every day of the week 1,000,000 times before I'd ever consider open carrying.

like all things, depends on the situation

lotta farm ground around me, where if I were carrying Id rather open carry

but by open carry I mean a higher rise paddle/pancake that I can let my shirt or jacket moderately obscure so I don't have to IWB while doing physical labor

I've probably plugged this guy already but you're at all interested in leather holsters he is awesome: http://www.nelsonholsters.com/

I have 2 variants of his Phoenix design for my Glocks, and a custom pocket holster for my LCP. If you have questions or don't see exactly what you want on his site just email him and he's insanely helpful. His work is by far the best & most comfortable holster's I've owned.

Is that your private property or someone else's / local district? If it was private, who cares what the state laws are.

Public though is a whole 'nother ball game and I'd still feel way more comfortable not advertising.
