I am not a fan of guns. I accidently killed my younger sister when I was 7 years old. It was a long time ago but it seems like yesterday to me.

Please store your guns in an gun cabinet if you take up this hobby.

Sorry about your sister, but as I'm sure you've been told you were seven. It was your parents' fault for not locking up the gun and not teaching you proper firearm safety (even 7 year olds can be taught the basics), not yours.

Honestly I think customers should be required to show proof-of-purchase of a gun safe whenever purchasing a gun, just a bill for the safe with their name on it or something. Could double as one of the multiple forms of ID required.

My firearms are in my roommate's safe. I'll buy my own once I move into my own house later this year.

And I agree with the first part, about it being the parents' fault. If there are guns and children together in the house, gun safety MUST be emphasized and firearms must be safely stored.

i wouldn't call those daily deal sites....unless his definition of daily is different than mine. my idea of daily deal sites for guns are sites like slickguns, gearhog, dvor. Although gearhog and dvor is mostly accessories, not actual guns or ammo. gearhog has kind of sucked lately too. in the beginnign they had good deals but lately it's crap.

From what I've seen in other posts might be a bit trollish to begin with.

Finally went shooting after like 2 months of not going. Was a perfect day weather wise...Sunny and 60 by the time we left.

Got to try out the 762-SDN FINALLY. Had a few minutes of omfg im going to cry. Shot my 300blk 10 rounds and shot my normalish sized group (1-2MOA @100 yards for 10 shots just shooting and not going for smallest groups). Put the can on and next 10 rounds were all over the place. Only 2" side to side but a good 8" vertical spread. Same with next 10 rounds. Next 10 (and at this point im getting scared/pissed) the group tightened up slightly...probably 2"x5". So took the can off and shot a normal 1-2MOA group. Put can back on and the groups finally tightened up. Was weird how it took ~50 rounds for accuracy to get to the same level as the without the can. And being able ot hear the bullet impact wood

Next issue was the load i had developed as a subsonic ended up being...not subsonic. Guess the can added a bit of velocity or the warmer weather added some. Even without the can on they were going supersonic. So was a bit disappointed there. But a few rounds did stay subsonic and that was nice to hear how quiet it was. Thankfully it should be just a drop of a few tenths of a grain to fix.

Then the third issue (bad things come in threes) was i was having some lightstrikes. I disassembled the bolt carrier to clean so im sure its something to do with that. Had a few lightstrikes then try to eject the case only to find they were slightly stuck. Took lot of force to extract. But reload them in the mag and they would fire just fine the next time. Was just weird...out of 100 rounds probably 5 or so had lightstrikes and 2 (or 3) had the not want to eject issue.

o guess i had a fourth issue too. Got a DNZ scope mount for my marlin 1895 and a 2-7 "shotgun scope". Not sure what the problem is yet but i had to max out both elevation and the windage just to get it on paper at 100 yards. I have a feeling the scope mount is messed up. Been wanting a XS rail so probably pick one of those up to try. Was just bummed i didnt really get to shoot it much since the scope was so off. Only plus was i used up the 20 rounds i had from load development.

On a positive it was just myself and my dad on the 100 for most of the time and then i had the 200 just to myself. Always nice when it isnt super quiet.

Took my Lee Enfield No 4 Mk1 to the range finally. Hell that think kicks a bit firing PRVI ammo. It shoots a bit high at closer range, but I think that's expected. Indoor range, so I freaked out the people 15 feet away shooting a .22... (BANG "whoa" and they miss their shot. I warned them I was about to start shooting the heavy stuff. I tried to space my shots between theirs though.)

Picked up a Ruger 10/22 at Dicks for $200, wood stock, with the intention of customizing it after seeing a friend of mines. Stock, trigger, scope. He sends me a link for the trigger...Dang...the timney trigger is more than I paid for the rifle.

His last name is Jones. I, most likely, will not be keeping up with him. Too much $$ going out for other things at the moment.

Customizing your 10/22 can be a very expensive hobby. Many folks spend more than a grand on their 10/22.

Yup, the only thing left of my ruger 10/22 is the receiver. Kidd trigger assembly, barrel, bolt. Boyd stock. Love it! Really helps solidify fundamentals of rifle shooting. If the bullet doesn't strike dead center of where it was supposed to, its my fault.

Quoted for info....might scare me though.

Or the bullet is the problem.

Eff, they offered me 4 100rnd boxes of cci mini mags (not on the shelf) and I passed because I'm loaded....calling in the AM to see if my receipt will give me access.

Welcome to the "I love guns thread" where people talk about...well, guns. Guns they own, want, have seen and so forth.

In the 9,600 posts in this thread a number of people have come in here to insert the occasional "You guys are just cowards" nonsense...and the mods usually come through and remove those people from the thread.

So, please - you're welcome to talk about guns and ask questions if you have any. You're not welcome if this is all you have to add.
