Nope I kind of wanted to get a stripped G17 frame and build one but that's hard to do in CA. And having a G17 with 10 round mags just seems redundant with a G19 already in hand.

I finally went and got the AK I said I would when Mikhail Kalashnikov passed away.

Decided to go with the SAM7 SF, and do not regret it at all. $1300 shipped. Picked up a bunch of those nice Circle 10 mags too, the newer K-VAR scope mount, and a ton of ammo. Looking forward to sighting that puppy in while it's still summer. Want to put a red dot on it but have no idea what I'll use. Want to different sling too. Bulgarians must be small people.

I wish Arsenal made the exact same rifle, but in 5.45mm, but 7.62x39 will work fine for me. Just still tickled pink at a NATO length stock that folds to the right instead of the left.

I always walk by the ammo case when I go to Walmart. It has been slowly getting more stocked but the only .223/5.56 for a good price was occasional Tula.

A few days ago I seen they had the 30 rd boxes of ZQ1 for $9.97, which is about half what it was listed at for months.

Today I got a few more boxes of it. They had even more selections now, and dropped the price on some of the other stuff, but that ZQ1 is by far the best price.

I have not shot it yet, but seems to get positive comments. It is 62 gr. Check to see if your local Walmart has dropped any prices like that. If not you can always get the 720rd case for $457 (lulz).

RM06 3.5moa if I recall. Should be co-witness with suppressor height sights.

Nice, that's what I was gonna get for my fnx45 tactical before I put that on hold for my Kidd 10/22 project and my lightweight ar15 project. It never ends...

How did you get the kydex to mold to the body? Heat gun while wearing it? If so, what temperature setting on the heat gun?

I never use my white hat holster because it is so stiff, both horsehide and kydex, that the holster itself makes my jeans stick out in a very unnatural way regardless of how tight my gun belt is

I took it off before doing any heating. You can heat the kydex while attached to the leather- doesn't seem to bother it. The HF heat gun has two settings, supposed to be ~500 and ~1000*F. It's a very, very not-exact science, as how close the heat is, how much you move it, if the element is already hot, ect, all affect how long it takes the kydex to get workable. I found it best to just sit the holster down with the edge I want to alter hanging off a table, and you can see when it starts to sag under gravity.

I think you COULD heat it while wearing it, but you'd have to be pantsless (belt only) and be VERY careful to not burn your hair off. D:

I know that feeling! I have a google word document outlining all my plans for what i want to buy and do next when it comes to guns. Some are probably not going to happen (integrally suppressed 300blk bolt gun) but others more than likly will (SBR'd 458 socom suppressed!)

Pretty much anytime i think of something cool id love to have it goes on the list......the list is getting long

I hear ya! I put all nfa stuff on the back burner, I can't deal with the long ass wait. Too bad 300 blkout costs a pretty penny, its a nice concept.

It feels like .300 blackout is just a 1%'er version of 7.62x39. I don't quite get why it costs so bloody much for ammunition. Really kind of want an AK just for all of that relatively cheap, steel cased, ammo.

I had a meeting in Ypsilanti today and was able to stop by Cabela's nearby.

Man, what a store. It was my first time checking one out. I only had an hour and I didn't get to see half of what I wanted to look at. So many cool guns on display.

The one in Dundee, MI? That is the one I've been to. I'm like 40 minutes north of Ypsilanti and that is the closest. While there are Gander and Dick's, Cabelas is definitely the best for gun stuff.

Finally got some powder and bullets to reload .44 Mag. I have some 240gr plated that I'm planning to used for average loads and a box of Hornady XTP 180gr for the hot hot loads. According to the load data I found I should be able to get them up to about 1700 fps with a max load. ^_^

300 blackout is very high on my 'do want' list, and it's all about the suppressor action. But then I reload, so ammo costs will not be a big deal for me.

Good. Everyone with a brain knows this- .40 is about 100% more difficult to control for a 0% gain in effectiveness.

I openly call people names at the range for shooting their annoying .40 Glocks (because .40 fans and Glock fans are usually the same type of retard).

My girlfriend got a .40 for her first gun, this was before we started dating.

Needless to say she didn't know TOO much about guns, but wanted one that went bang and was sold on it. That was sold fairly quickly due to increased ammo cost compared to my 9mms, and the fact that it had too much recoil for her.

I almost want to get a 40 just cause i have so much fing brass for it it would be cheap to reload for.

My dad actually bought a 40 years and years ago pretty much when it was first coming out. Think the .40 came about in 1990? He bought a S&W 4006 in 91 i believe it was so he got on board pretty quick. But he wasnt really into shooting all that much till the last few years (when my brother and i got into it way more so did he) SO for a long time all he really had was his 40. Then he picked up a M&P in 40 just cause he didnt want to buy another caliber. Of course now he has a M&P in 45, a shield in 40 and a XDs in 45. he shoots the 40 a lot less now a days but only cause his M&P45 has a nicer trigger (apex)

But since that was all he had was a 40 for a long time and the range we used to go we got a lot of other peoples bras.....ive probably got 4k of 40 brass now. So been thinking of picking up a cheap one just to have one and might as well since itll round out the caliber collection nicely.

I already have 9mm, 10mm, 45acp, 357mag, and 44mag. So a 40 is the only other "common" caliber im really missing in handguns.....well other than 380

I'm not law enforcement, so .45 won a long time a go for me.

10mm would win if I had more money.

10mm has always intrigued me... I was fondling a 10mm Glock just a few days ago.

I love .45 ACP, probably my favorite handgun caliber of all time.

10mm is neat...but not worth it IMO, in no small part due to the main pistol being a glock. I know there are 1911 versions, but they're far from affordable really...and .45 is easily lethal enough for any purposes of mine. If .45 can't do it (as in, I'm wandering around the wilderness and want something more lethal than bear spray) it'll be my .41 magnum anyway.
