Was his "truck" a wooden cart pulled by a buffalo? LOL

Just to play devil's advocate, I could see a lot of trucks costing 5k or under. An ar15 could easily get there, especially once you include an optic. A lot of larue, noveske, or KAC models get you pretty close already. Now, if you're just using a red dot or acog, add 500-1500. Throw on a US Optics and that is an expensive rifle.

you can brake them down to almost zero felt recoil for insanely accurate and fast follow up shots

but why would anyone want that on any gun?!?!

()

If they're that concerned about recoil then they should just get an Airsoft Gun

No joke. I have a feeling he probably bought it close to/around Sandy Hook madness and paid a lot of money thinking he was buying in to the "operator" status. I didn't actually see the rifle enough to tell you what it had, but the soundblast/concussion from it was awful.

Oh well, I just bought a Muzzle Brake for my PTR today. Happy days!

It's not hard to do when your automobile is cheap.

My car is valued at around $500.

I have a dozen handguns in the $2000+ category and many rifles in that price range (four SCARs, two Tavors, two ACRs, etc.)

Maybe it is just me, but I have my own cases/bags that I use to transport my weapons. Manufacturer boxes and accessories all go into a closet or box in the garage to only be seen again if I sell the weapon. I only appreciate the plastic clamshells because they hold up better instead of getting crushed or falling apart like the cardboard ones.

I do the same thing. I have individual lock boxes for each of my firearms to use during transport and have various range bags to carry other things. Most manufacturer boxes are pretty useless, but was agreeing with shorty in that the Springfield boxes are pretty awesome boxes that I use for things other than gun storage.

Really? Granted, I only have experience with two springfield boxes (a 9mm 1911 loaded and an xd mod.2 box), but they seem similar enough to the other plastic clamshells like from smith & wesson, glock, etc. Nowhere near say a pelican or skb. I think of them in the same area as the generic, cheap line from plano.

I am amazed that these expensive rifles come in shitty cardboard boxes. For that kind of money you'd think they would have a halfway decent plastic case included with the thing.

Expensive pistols normally do. My Glock 42 had a nice hard box with cutout foam and a cleaning kit and everything was neatly set in there. Springfield pistols have REALLY nice boxes.

Springfield is okay. The REALLY nice ones are from high-end HK, older S&W Performance Center, and high-end Tanfoglio. They are all like little briefcases.

Such as my S&W 952:

HK pistols are hideously expensive. I should hope they have nice cases.
Of course, Kimbers are ridiculously overpriced and they have crummy cases.

I dunno about hideously expensive...to me that's like the Ed Brown or Dan Wesson 1911 prices. I'm sure they're awesome but I don't have that much money to throw at those. Mk23 not withstanding, I've seen any other HK model for a grand or less at some point.

It's weird that I'd rather have something like a USP45 over any of HK's new pistols. Those aren't hard to find for $800ish. I've fired the VP9, but it really didn't feel too dissimilar from my M&P to be interesting. The ergonomics are better, but honestly not THAT much.

You should check out the HK 45. Love that thing.

Disagree, but that's relative though. Hideously expensive is Wilson Combat's 1911 Pinnacle at $8K. Now that's expensive. A $1K-$1.3K HK is just a great gun, but HK also offers great guns at the $550-$700 range as well.

That being said, HK's pistol cases are nothing special. I believe madoka was referring to HK's rifle cases which are actually pretty nice, especially the MR762A1 LRP, but that's a $6K-$7K rifle. Hey, still cheaper than Wilson Combat's flagship 1911 though.

SCARs used to be 3k plus. Plus, he could have bought it during the scare in 2012....then it cost $7000 instead of $1k or something.

Put another 100 rounds in at the range yesterday. I've finally gotten enough practice where I feel comfortable leaving the gun with a loaded mag at my bedside, albeit not with one in the pipe ready to fire.

I've trained myself through repetition to pull the slide back and chamber one as the first thing I do. Works for me. Also practiced clearing malfunctions yesterday.. just in case.

What do you shoot - does it not have a safety?

My advice is - get a holster for it, and keep it loaded (of course, ONLY if you're comfortable with that...) A holster protects the trigger pretty well...coupled with proper handling (finger off the trigger, among other things) you'll be safe.

Maybe keep a snap cap in the pipe and treat it like a real round for a bit just so you get used to the idea of something in there.

What sights do you have on your G19? I am trying to decide on what night sights to get.

Those are trijicon HD night sights, and I also have them on my shield, my Glock 20, and I am ordering a set for this g43 as well. They come with a yellow or orange front - I have both and the Orange is much more noticeable. Great sights, however a bit expensive.

Traded my shield for this new in box Rock Island Armory CS-Tactical 1911 this afternoon, I think I did pretty good on the trade. Pictured with my new G43, both of the new additions for this week -
