I got a JP silent capture buffer and spring on the way for my suppressed 300 blackout. With subsonics it is already so quiet, but the spring noise is huge. Curious to see how much the silent capture setup reduces the spring noise

So I went to a gun show earlier today. Just looked around and nothing caught my eyes but one item. It was a speed loader for AR15 and the price was about $25.

It is odd the loader only loads 20 rds at one time while the magazine is 30 rds.

Anyone has any experience with this loader or any other brand or do you use a speed loader at all?

I think I finally deciphered what I need to buy for my first suppressor and have it run on all my rifles/pistols.

I've been looking at the Liberty Cosmic or Mystic X since they are designed as multi-caliber cans. But I didn't know how I'd attach it to my rifles without having to take off my existing muzzle devices every time I wanted to use the can.

So yesterday I found out Liberty makes the HATE Ring that interfaces with SilencerCo's MAAD Mounts.

Combine the HATE ring with a MAAD Mount and now you've got a flexible system that'll work with a number of muzzle devices. I'd still have to buy new muzzle devices for my 5.56 AR and 300 BLK pistol (either a YHM device or one of SilencerCo's ASR devices), but that's not the end of the world. Worth it, to me, to have a can that'll run on all my stuff.

For the pistols I just need a piston and fixed barrel adapter (the latter for my 22/45 Lite).

The only thing that really grinds my gears is the fact that the MAAD Mounts are $320. JESUS HUME CHRIST. Nuts.

If you're building an AR, get a good torque wrench to get the barrel nut on right. A punch set isn't a bad idea either.

Torque wrench
Punch set
Rubber and/or brass mallet
Magpul Armorer's Wrench (expensive but the cheap castle nut wrenches are shit and can bend)
Decent driver set would be helpful (to have the correct size bits for screws so you don't strip them)

That would do you pretty well I think, especially if you're just beginning.

My son in law swears the Magpul wrenches break, I've not seen it, but he's pretty sharp, I went with the Brownlee wrench. You don't have to have a torque wrench, but it's a very good idea. I use one and a a FAT torque screwdriver too.

Really? That's surprising. They looked pretty damn solid. I actually don't have any experience with them; they were recommended by sootch00 though and although he's kind of a puss he's pretty solid on not recommending junk.

I just cringe watching him build anything, he gets in a hurry and scratches the hell out of everything. Am a subscriber, but his builds are an example of how to not do a thing. Seems like a cool guy and all, but his reviews are just a bit too positive as well.

Haven't watched any of his build videos, but I, too, get a distinct whiff of paid-for-reviews from him. He doesn't do many negative reviews.

He built an AR and a 10/22, he'd scratch the hell out of something, then he'd cut the video and show the part covered with painter's tape on the AR, I forgot what he did with the 10/22's.

Like I said, though, he seems like a nice guy, someone I'd enjoy as a neighbor, especially on range day.

LOL, yeah he does tend to scratch things. I honestly don't care myself; I don't think I scratched my pistol but I wouldn't cared if I did. That gun is a tool to me, not a collector's item. But it is kinda funny.

He does have basically universally positive reviews but I really don't think he's paid by anyone. I mean, HPR (in case you didn't know, it's hyper clean) sends him some ammo and he works with Going Gear to give discounts cause he knows the owner, but I highly doubt there's someone putting money in his pocket to give good reviews. He's just an easy-going, positive person. But really, he's not gonna review junk or shit he don't like anyway, so stuff's gonna be positive regardless. I'd bet my next paycheck he's not a paid shill.

I don't think he's a paid reviewer, imam curious how much the channels like hickok45 make with 2,000,000 subs.

Some say sootch00 is a bit pretentious for what he says at the end of each of his video. I think he is alright but not as fun as hickok45. That old man is a hoot to watch.

Yeah, honestly, that's just stupid, he could make it better with the Vulcan hand sign

I like Yankee Marshall's videos a lot, although after watching quite a few of his out takes, I don't think I could stand him in real life .

Thumbs.... way up

LOL

I don't think his sign-off is pretentious at all... That's just his thing; he doesn't seem to be trying to appear more impressive or important by doing it, and seems like a humble guy honestly. But whatever.

Man I need to finish de-Cosmolining my M48. I finally got the bolt apart and have all the metal parts done, I just need to do the receiver and stock. I guess I'll need to use the brake cleaner I have for the receiver; I don't think it'll fit in my ultrasonic cleaner. :awe:

Some stuff he posts is just blatantly wrong though. The K98K video for example is just a pimp-shined Mitchell's Mauser that he calls "matching".

That rifle alone needs to be revisited, but with a real example.

Be strong
Be of good courage
God bless America
Long live the republic

I think I'd trim it down to one of those

Look like the panic buying/selling/crazing pricing is down a bit.

PSA has the July 4th sale right now - an AR15 upper for $180, complete lower for $160, complete set of BCG/CH for $100, 5.56 ammo for $6/20 rounds, 9 mm ammo for $10/50 rounds. Prices do not include shipping.

So you can get a cheap AR15 for less than $500.

Nothing will happen unless Hildabeast gets elected. If she is elected in November just make sure you have all the ammo and guns you want for the next 4 years. Hildabeast will find it hard to grab guns but not much to stop her from trying to tax everything into oblivion.

RIP California. Time to order more lowers and ammo while I can.

Holy crap, a ban on new "assault guns", confiscating high cap mags, background checks on ammo sales, and registration of grandfathered "assault weapons".

I'm sure he's made mistakes. But I don't feel I'm fed bullshit and lies when I watch his videos, and I find him slightly entertaining and he does share some good knowledge I think.

Got my new carry gun this weekend. Happy with the size, weight, and accuracy.

Sig sure does a great job, if I was a little more careful with my stuff, I'd buy all Sig's, but I'm not, so I'll just stick with my ass-ugly Glocks
