My M & P 9mm. I have around 2K through this one with ONE fail to feed, which was my fault.

I was literally minutes away from purchasing a very lightly used M&P9 this weekend for $350 OTD. I backed off because I didn't need another tupperware 9mm (already have a Glock 34), but that was the best price I've seen in a while. Even used Glocks are around $400 in my state, which is too much IMO.

$350 is a pretty good deal. The cheapest used I have seen was $400 with 4 mags. New around here ranges from $475-$500.

Some store on slickguns has been selling new M&Ps (both compact and full size) for $400 shipped. Best price I've ever seen for new ones.

But you need to add $20-$30 for a local FFL transfer when buying online.

Didn't have time to watch the whole thing, but did he list DA/SA as a plus? I'm sorry, that means a shitty trigger pull...it's a semi auto, get SA and be done. Revlovers, sure. Decocking them is in NO WAY possible to do safely. With a semi auto, no need to decock, just drop the mag and rack the slide.

DA/SA allows for the "modern" convenience of no manual safety with the benefit of a light single action trigger pull from the 2nd shot on. I personally don't prefer it but some people like the compromise. I'd definitely prefer it to DAO.

Hey guys, I am enrolling in a CCW class this year, and getting ready to buy my first pistol. I've shot the Glock 19 a few times at the local range and really like it. Is this a good choice for an every day carry for a 6' 5" ~180lbs-ish guy? I don't want it to be terribly noticeable because I am lean.

Went to the range last night for the 5th time and WOW, my aim has improved tremendously.

It is set up for 50 feet and my first few times I went to the range I was shooting high and to the right, sometimes even missing the target completely. I was pulling and flinching which was evident in my shots.

Last night with my first magazine, I put 11 of 14 in the black and 3 of those in the red bullseye. the other 3 were close to the black.

Magazines 2 and 3 weren't as good, but I was trying to see if I could shoot and recover quicker than before. Obviously I still need work, but at 50 feet, I was pretty proud of myself.

Yup, can't go wrong with a G19, especially for your build. Stick with a Gen 3 to avoid the problems with the newer ones. That being said, personally I find I am more likely to carry if I use a gun which is small enough to very easily stuff in my pants or pocket and forget about. If I have to strap on a holster and dress around the gun I am more likely to say screw it and not carry. So in that case you may be better of with a M&P shield, Walther PPS, or similar.

Check out the Glock 26. Might be a little easier to conceal. IMHO the 19 is a liiiiitle to large to conceal under light clothingduring the summer months. I carry my M&P in the winter though.

Nice! 50ft is pushing it IMHO for most sidearms. If you can be accurate at that distance its something to be proud of.

The problems they were having affected new production gen 3's as well as gen 4's. Irrelevant anyway since the issues are fixed at this point. My gen 4 has been 100%.

Concealing full size guns is just hard. Quantum is right here. Get a smaller lighter gun.

My turn for pictures. Well at the moment at least.

The three guns i own as of right now (more to come in the next few months)
Sig P226
S7W 19-3 (357mag)
And a mossberg 500. Have the 18.5" and 26" barrels for it. Red dot is just on for kicks. Dont actually use it really. But i got it for free

My Reloading bench/Gun cleaning/small item assembly bench. I dont normally have my ammo just out but was reorganizing it. Normally it sits in my safe.

O and as a note for Kazaam. Buy a speed reloader when you do get your 9 (or whatever smei you get). it makes reloading the mags so much easier and quicker in my experience.

How's your experience been with the Lee turret? I was looking into snagging one but was turned off by reports of the auto-indexing mechanism breaking.

Gonna have to do a side by side comparison of the G19 and G26 at the range some time. Need to renew my permit too.

???

Pretty much all of the gun ranges where I live are 25m = 82ft, and it's unusual that anyone (other than us IPSC guys) would shoot at a shorter distance. Everyone takes their very first handgun shots at 82ft.

Not so around here (kansas). Our cc class requires shooting at 30 feet also so me hitting the target with my shots grouped together is pretty decent, especially since I just bought my glock this spring and have been to the range 5 times. I have no doubt I can be accurate at longer distances, but my range doesn't have anything but 50 ft.

I'm really wanting to get a glock 26 and midwestguntrader has one for $475 with 3 magazines. Don't have the cash at the moment, but I think its high for a used glock 26 anyway and would probably only give $425ish for it.

I misread his message. I was thinking 50 YARDS, not feet.

25 meters is a bit much, especially for an inexperienced shooter. I've never done much in the way of public range shooting though, most of my shooting is 30-40 feet on a private range. This is much farther than you would ever need in a self defense situation, so I don't see the point in shooting at more than double that range.

Yeah, $475 is high IMHO for a used one. Bud's has them for $499 NEW with free shipping.

They don't seem to have the 26 in stock now, but J & G sales has used Glock's for around $350 fairly regularly. They have the Gen 3 22 for $349.95 at the moment.
