I hate videos like that

"Oh look a box. Wonder what's in it?"

"OH WOW A GUN!"

"Lets touch everything in the case"

"OK done"

Shoot the thing, field strip it, show us how it looks when carried. Videos like that make me want to punch the person that made them in the face.

Or the camera sits on the unopened box for 15 minutes while they talk about it.

How much would such a setup cost? If you don't mind my asking. If you do, well then, never mind haha.

The rifle itself was about $2,200. The whole setup as shown was around $3K. The things I do for fun . . .

I ended up going with JP because I was looking for a nice AR (more for fun than self-defense), and had narrowed it down to JP, KAC and Larue. Ultimately I had more or less concluded that the race-gun aspects of the JP (low-mass BCG and adjustable gas block) were better suited to my wants than what KAC or Larue had to offer, plus I really like their hand guard. I then learned that JP was local and actually located in Hugo, MN, where my beloved secretary lives, and it seemed like kismet. Also, I don't love Nutnfancy, but I watched his JP Enterprises video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kEyPVtfqx20 - and was really impressed with the passion of John Paul. He seems like a really over-the-top enthusiast, and really really knows his stuff.

ugh...thought I'd get the best of both worlds and price out a JP LRP in .308. I wish I hadn't done that. I think I could buy two M1As with what I'll eventually spend on the JP.

I'm assuming it's FDE and the pics are just overexposed.
Desert tan... Was late and my old Samsung digital camera tends to overexpose stuff... Was really considering the titanium but the DT just caught my eye... Yes it is the Canik TP-9 ($349.95 + $27.02 shipping) and can get the all black for $299 & shipping from J&S...

On another note kinda sad today but happy in another... I no longer own my Armalite AR50-A1 50bmg... I was offered a good price with scope and a few rounds (30) but have a pocket full of money to buy other weapons...

Might be looking at either a PS90 or AR10...?

Yeah they are not cheap, though I think they're fairly priced for what you get compared to what others like KAC and Larue have to offer. The side-charging system seems awesome, though I can't say I've actually shot one.

or its a nutnfancy review....

So my plans to just replace my black troy alpha rail to a FDE alpha rail and put the black one on my PSA 556 upper ended with me buying everything to build a new upper >.<

So my PSA 556 basic upper (flat top with FSB) is staying the same.
My 300blk is getting the FDE 13" rail (so itll be FDE stock, grip, rail, and mags)

And my new 223 wylde upper will be (generic parts of FA, ejection port cover, barrel nut)
Rainier Arms stripped flat top upper
Troy Alpha Rail black 13" (off my 300blk)
White Oak Arament 18" SPR mid-length barrel
Troy low profile gas block

Be interesting to see if it is more accurate than the PSA or not (i sure hope it is!)

I have to stop buying guns. I still havent shot my ruger american rimfire 22lr, my sig 522 hasnt been out all summer, my PSA 223 got out once this summer, my 91/30 mosin hasnt been shot, and my type 53 has only been out once. Not to count some of my pistols havent been shot recently either.

Though will say my 300blk, 308 bolt gun, and Sig 226 have seen plenty of use

I had a Tavor back in March and sold it within a few months. It was reliable, reasonable accurate, and pretty cool - but I couldn't get past the staple gun trigger. Once you go Geissele, it's hard to go back.

<snip>

Yike, $3K for a rifle and then ammo and range time. I think I will save my coins for the Colt 9620 at Walmart for less than $1K, much easier on the wallet.

Well, you're comparing rifles for different purposes at that point. The JP rifle isn't a plinker, it's built for competition.

I outdid myself today. Almost 3000 rounds of German brass-cased 7.62 NATO for just under 40 cents/round. The only time I've done better was when I picked up a case of beloved patriot 7.62 NATO (great stuff, BTW) for 32 cents/round last year, but that was a major fluke.

Fair enough, and the 6920 LE is a great rifle. Obviously it's quite a different beast than my JP, and not really built around the same design objectives (i.e., it's built as a combat rifle, not an soft-shooting competition rifle). Honestly I also just tend to like really nice toys and greatly value craftsmanship and finish, and I like that it's locally made.

We all have our things. I am being drawn to high end pistols. After I get my 226, a Kimber Ultra is next. But I wouldn't dream of spending anywhere close to that on a rifle.

I also buy cheap jeans

That's awesome that its local. Its one of the reasons I want a rock river ar and 1911.....its as local a gun as I can get

To each his own! I wouldn't really call a Kimber Ultra a high-end pistol - $1K and a plastic mainspring housing is more what I'd call a midrange 1911 - but they are perfectly nice to shoot. I find it strange that they use plastic parts, though, and that alone might push me toward a Springfield in that price range.

$3,000 may seem like a lot at first, but it's not hard to hit that if you are looking to build a precision rifle or one for competition.

Of course as always DIY will save you money, particularly with ARs.
