I "love" guns like I love computers, guitars, cars, and many other hobbies that I'm into.

They're cool little machines that I enjoy working on/with, and it's always fun to blow off some steam at the range and shoot paper.

I started randomly carrying a griends G27 he long term loaned me a few months ago(he has 30+ handguns and it isn't in his carry rotation, and yes, Ive shot it more than a few times)

I happen to have a cross breed for it that I got with a different gun transaction

Its not near as bad as I thought it would be, since its so wide.....

Auto-Ordanance (kahr) makes new ones and they are reasonably priced. But 30 Carbine is hard to find. Not commonly stocked at Walmart and the general sporting goods stores.

I had to order a case of 500 online just to get any.

I have one for my Garand...can't stomach the cost of one for my M1 Carbine... (I'm reworking an M1 Garand stock from Boyd's with some BLO right now. We'll see how it goes. If well, I'll buy a Boyd's stock and finish it for my Carbine.)

As for AO, I don't trust them much....but that's based on word of mouth, no real experience.

Here's my new favorite gun.

I call it the Sarfoglio.

Its brother is the Tanfilsmaz, which kinda got the short end of the stick...will document that later.

Long story short: The Sarsilmaz (a.k.a. SAR or Sar Arms, a very excellent Turkish manufacturer) is a B6P, which is a very direct copy of a Tanfoglio Witness Polymer. Very good, very cheap (commonly under $300) gun.

A Witness Steel (Italian gun) is a little more expensive. And frankly...of lesser quality. But I posted about one with a cracked slide, which I ended up keeping as a parts gun. And, well, the SAR is such a direct copy that the slide and barrel will interchange with the Tanfo. The Turkish gun is made to much more precise tolerances, so while the Tanfo slide does fine in the SAR frame, the SAR slide/Tanfo frame combo needed a bit of lapping to function smoothly. Now the the thing locks up like a fucking bank vault.

The other part that may seem curious is that whole 'cracked slide' thing...yeah, I welded the motherfucker. This weekend, I am planning to run it through a shitty Russian steel-cased ammo torture test.

They're both quite nice. If the polymer one doesn't explode, I'll be kinda satisfied with myself.
