I have the clips on it, like that guy has pictured

I didn't like the kydex loops because they print hella bad

I am used to my junk riding the barrel of my 642(which I need a decent holster for) so it doesn't bother me that much, the gun isn't just going to go off on its own....

my small beer gut certainly doesn't help

found a pic of the guns in their holsters:

Has anyone shot a Sig P290RS?

We were talking about interesting things like 1911s and such. Now we're back to the regular programming of lego block handguns and rifles. :'(

What kind of modifications did you have to make for it to accept clips rather than magazines?

oh effing please

the 1911 circle jerk is one of the most tiring in firearms

we are actually talking about holsters and carry positions

I'd say the most tiring would be most pistols + AR15s, but that's just me.

Nothing is more satisfying than shooting 60+rds through a rifle. Shooting 100+ through a pistol just feels like a waste of money since my wallet hurts before I'm done shooting. With a rifle at least my shoulder gives out before my wallet does.

Using full power 10mm in my glock 20, both my wallet and my hands start hurting pretty quickly.

so.....only rifles, non-ar rifles at that, is the only non-tiring thing to talk about firearms wise?

Without coming off as TOO much of an elitist, it keeps it interesting to talk about other firearms.

Glocks, 1911s, ARs, and their clones are like the Civics and F150s of the gun world. While they are cool in their own way and definitely work, everyone has one and they're not entirely interesting by themselves. Not knocking anyone that has them of course as anyone legal firearm owner is definitely okay in my book.

True, 10mm is definitely a very oddball round. Wish there were more choices in this category.

I will say I shot a 50AE Desert Eagle once, didn't pay for the ammo but I did feel for the friend that let me shoot it. The 7 or so rounds that I shot cost somewhere around $20

I have a Turkish m38 mauser if that helps

its next on my list, once I maybe get a new or another pocket/ccw 9mm, and finish my current AR build

I need some correct screws, and a firing pin first, then Ill go from there....

Anybody ever ordered an SWFA SS 10x42? I ordered one Monday, it is on back order. Curious if anybody who has ordered one had it back ordered and how long it took to ship?

Are you just getting into precision shooting? That is a pretty common scope so you should be able to find a nice used one for sale. Try the sniper's hide forums or any of hte other big forums. You might save some money and get it a little faster.

I want to say that since they're so common though, a lot of people own them and would benefit from the discussion of various techniques that will affect their daily lives. Our discussion on holsters and how to carry could apply across a lot of platforms.

But, to make you happy, does anyone want to discuss how I should convert my new Saiga 7.62x39? I've read up some and know that one end of the spectrum is the standard tapco g2 trigger group with the red star on the upper end of the spectrum. What is in the middle?

I'm not demanding anything, I'm just giving input on why people would find them tiring. Holsters and open carry are a completely different topic though as certain brands apply to a different number of models. Hell even oil is fun to talk about

And to answer your question G2s are absolutely fine, if you want to spend more money go ahead but I've never had any problem with the G2s and they tend to have pretty light trigger pulls. In fact for my 74 build a single hook G2 is exactly what I'm using.

There are G2s, Red Stars, Arsenal, and Surplus triggers. Take your pick, if you want adjustable choose Red Star, if you want a two stage Arsenal offers one as well as their vanilla version, if you just want a 922r 3 count reasonably priced trigger group go with the Tapco. I've heard reports of the Arsenals 2 stages having trigger slap.

Yup just getting into it this Summer. I'm fine with waiting for a new one. Just curious if anybody had experience and how long a wait I should expect.

Sorry, I have no experience regarding SS backorders, but I know their products are popular. If you haven't yet, you definitely need to join the hide (snipers hide forums). There is much to learn there. What rifle are you putting the ss on? What reticle and knob adjustments did you go with?

This is big. Make sure the reticle and the knobs match. Up to you between MOA and MIL but mismatching the two will be painful.

DPMS Tac 20. .308, 20 inch barrel.

http://www.dpmsinc.com/TAC20_ep_101-1.html

I went with the MRAD reticle. afaik all SS scopes have matched turrets and reticles. This one does.

http://swfa.com/SWFA-SS-10x42-Tactical-Riflescope-P53712.aspx

Once I started researching scopes I was surprised to find out manufacturers actually ship units without matched turrets\reticles.

I have been watching TiborasaurusRex on youtube. I was all set to pickup a Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50 FFP scope until seeing his video comparing variable vs fixed. I saw little reason to spend 650 dollars more on a variable scope for what I am planning to do with this rifle.

Oh. So you're going to spend way too much money on a really simple trigger job?

I'm sure that guy does fine work, but you should probably know that CZ's are EASY.

You'll get your gun back, your wallet will be like $200+ lighter, and you'll be AMAZED at how great the trigger is. But what would be more amazing was if you knew that 95% of the improvement was just coming from $20 worth of replacement springs.
