I was about to get the Liberty Cosmic or Liberty Mystic X from Silencer Shop because the prices were good and they are touted as multi-caliber. But I'm not sure about the attachment methods. All this piston-fixed-adapter-tri-lug-blah-blah-blah shit isn't very intuitive, IMO.

I watched a video from The Military Arms Channel last night and while it wasn't the focus of the video, he put a can from SilencerCo on a gun and it had some particular muzzle device from Griffin Armament on it, with a tri-lug adapter? So from what I understand, you'd just run that muzzle device on your rifles and then you can quick change the suppressor between them. I already have a Griffin M4SD Flash Comp on my AR-15 which it looks like is compatible with their suppressors. I'd have to get a new muzzle device for my 300 BLK pistol (and figure something out for my pistols), but maybe a Griffin can is the better option for me.

How is that a pistol and not a carbine or sbr?

Because it has a 10.5" barrel, and that is not a buttstock, it is a shockwave blade "stabilizer" - similar to a sig brace and ATF approved. You aren't supposed to put it your shoulder though, lol.

007 eh? :sneaky:

I was feeling snarky...and we were taking a guess at what the correct way to fill out a form 1 was. A lot was left blank. The only thing I was sure about was the trust paperwork.

Also, FTBATFE seemed a bad model name (since they were talking about changing the rules to require LEO approval, FTBAFTE seemed appropriate at the time. Glad they didn't do that in the end.)

I need to buy two engraved tubes now.

I was gonna ask the same thing as pontifex. I didn't realize there was another "brace" type thing on the market. Not surprising, though. Good.

It's no wonder these products are on the market considering that ATF rule is so f'ing stupid. It's funny that they're approved too. I guess they are technically legit.

They are about half the price of the sig brace too, which is nice -

My kit came from palmetto with the kak dimpled buffer tube, which has dimples for where to set the set screw (these are not freely adjustable without an Allen wrench)

I ordered a couple of cases of Wolf Gold ammo for the rifles this morning, as I have heard nothing but good things. Rumor is that it is just Taiwan XM193 that was sold off as surplus. At $296.44 shipped per case, it is not a bad deal for reloadable brass cased stuff.

The shockwave blade "stabilizer" surprised me. I built out a 300BLK with one and while testing it it was a lot smoother than I expected. I'd recommend it over the Sig brace.

I should have my gun license soon. Just awaiting paperwork. First will probably be a M&P 9mm.

Last will definitely be a .50 Desert Eagle. Always wanted one, but can't afford to shoot it every weekend. Will mostly be a show piece brought to the range every so often.

.300 blackout sbr? Is this something I need/want/will be impressed with?

Already building my mp5 sbr with suppressor.

I don't get it. how does it stabilize anything? looks like a thinner buttstock, lol.

at least with the sig brace you strap it to your arm...

Exactly, lol. It is just what it looks like, "stabilization." Isn't a 16" rifle more stable when you get a stock good and solid into your shoulder? Not that you would ever ever do that with this on a pistol though, right? It would not be a pistol though according to the law, so I guess you just have to make sure to not shoulder it. :awe:

Yup - you have to have proof of it should anyone ask since it's a regulated item under the NFA.

If you efile form 1's, you don't get a physical stamp, just an electronic copy. And you don't have to produce them unless it is an ATF agent, and even then you only have to be able to produce it in a "reasonable timeframe." Unless you have a backwards state law that makes you keep the stamp with you.

I just keep scanned copies in a Dropbox account on my phone, but I have never been asked for my paperwork for any of my NFA items.

Ahh - ok. No real experience with E-Filing. It was SERIOUSLY broken end of last year due to the rule changes and everyone and their mother filing for form 1s and form 4s.

I refuse to keep documents on my phone - I can easily see them saying in court "he handed me the phone to look at a document, so he agreed to a search of his phone"....

One of my friends copies & laminates them. I will likely follow suit.

One of the reasons I don't carry the paper documents with me anymore, is the fear of losing them or misplacing them. Not that I am prone to lose them, but if I do, there is a lot of personal information on there along with the name of my trust, address, and description and serial number of the NFA items. If someone were to find it, I now have a big neon sign on my house saying there are NFA items, among many other goodies, to steal. It may be paranoid, but at least I know that if they are in my dropbox, I can retrieve them from not just my phone, but my laptop or whatever wherever I am, and show or print a copy if I need to. I have never had to show anyone my stamps yet though, so it has not come up. I don't have to hand over my phone to bring up a document and show someone if I had to.
