We have a nice range nearby which is clean/sterile and relatively impressive (
http://www.nexusshooting.com/). A lot of people love it, but I HATE the electronic targets on one side of the range. To me it feels like shooting an air rifle at a carnival (even though you're shooting your own gun). I dunno, it's hard to describe, but it cheapens some of the gravitas one should feel when squeezing the trigger of a deadly firearm when you're popping shots off at cartoon zombies.
The range shorty posted is amazing if only for the rifle lanes. There is no indoor range anywhere near her with longer than 25 yards. There are only a couple outdoor ranges and they're more trouble than they're worth. I actually got rid of a M14 rifle a few years ago because I had nowhere to shoot it for real and popping targets at 25 yards with it was a snore.
EDIT: Air quality and air conditioning are huge factors in a range's quality. We have a Bass Pro / Outdoor World near us with an indoor range. Walked through the range at lunch one day and noticed they had thermometers for the temperature on the lanes. It was like 96 degrees in there. No circulation whatsoever. Gross.
