YAGT: Picked Up My Hairdresser

I've been going to the same hairdresser for a year now and we get along well; always chatty and interesting. (although they do this to get big tips of course)

So she starts talking about how she never has anyone to do things with and it would be nice to have someone close by to hang out with, go to movies and stuff with. Seeing how I spend most of my weekends away and don't know many people around here I offered her my number.

She was more than happy about that and asked an odd question..."is this your home or cell number?". Question: Why does this matter? I think I've been asked it before as well; any reason for this comment; they don't want an answering machine or something?

Anyway, the girl is obviously a girly girl (typical hairdresser type...bubbly), has the fake tan and good hair. Fit and very stylish. I'm pretty proud of myself, especially considering she made the first move...encouraging me to hang out with her.

Because she's considerate. If it's your cell, she might be interrupting when you're at work or whatever. If it's your home, she's likely to get your answering machine if you're not there, and if you are, you'll probably have time to chat. Don't overthink it.

My guess is that women do this as a way of fishing for more information about you. Do you live alone, etc. I wouldn't worry about it.

It's for that reason and also because if it's your cell the rules are different as far as what time is good to reach you, and if someone else might pick up etc..

Other than that, well done. Most YAGTs involve an OP missing the most obvious signs of interest ("She's grabbing my crotch--should I ask her to the next LAN?") so this is somewhat refreshing.

The man pretended he was gay to get an apt with two chicks, and managed to parlay it into EIGHT mostly-good seasons of TV. I'd say that's worth getting grandfathered in.

OP should take note, however, that most of his brethren in the Man Society aren't nearly as forgiving as I.

Don't get it twisted, I'm not knocking looking good at all. I'm in the chair no less frequent than every other saturday... but it's at the barber, not a boutique salon. Do they put you under the hairdriers too?
