I've been looking for 9mm ammo for target practice, but everywhere around me is tapped out. Anyone know of a place online (or in Phoenix area) that has them in stock? Feel free to PM me if you're afraid posting it public will cause the place to sell out quickly. I just want to go back out to the range ASAP, but can't do it if I've nothing to shoot.

local stores are best options but as was mentioned, you had better know the arrival date and be there at opening. Most stores are limiting ammo purchases to 3 boxes. 'Net options are out there but you need to be sitting on the website in order to get some when they are posted. An option to consider; reloads. Those are usually by word of mouth from friends or people at the range. For simple plinking they work well and are usually quite a bit cheaper then store bought. Word of caution..........never use reloads for defensive purposes; liability goes through the roof. I reload for hunting and plinking but never defensive. good luck

Buying ammo B&M sucks these days. Low/no stock, it disappears in a few hours after it's unloaded from the truck, and all you get is a 3 box ration if you're lucky enough to find some.

Keep your eye on SGAmmo, Ammoman, AimSurplus and MidwayUSA.

Good luck. It's hard to find and online you are most likely to overpay. Best bet is to keep a check on your local sources, either Wally World or your LGS. All ammo other than bird shot is hard to find.

Really appreciate all the links. The past couple of days I've been attempting to find them local only to find either empty shelves or one place had low grade stuff for $80 for 50 rounds, which is way outside of what I'd be willing to pay. I keep hoping this will die down.

Pretty much. The gas crisis in the 70's was caused by peoples perceptions, not an actual supply problem.

+1 for gunbot. I was finally able to get some .22LR at a decent price last night because of it. And like BladeVenom posted, ammoseek also crawls for prices/availability.

Also consider getting into reloading. The supplies for it are a little easier to find and order and your supply is a better assured. IMO, the only real downsides are the space needed (you need a dedicated workbench) and the high equipment cost (~$800-2000 depending on what you get).

Ex: Reloading .45 is around .25/round (vs ~45 or so from wally world when you can get it).

I can personally recommend Ammo To Go. A friend of mine is leaving in a few weeks time (his wife, active duty, has orders). They're both shooters, so I wanted to surprise them with a gift that included some ammo.....but I also wanted to make it fun. Figured I'd get them some of Hornady's Zombie-Max ammo, along with some other zombie-related items.
Ammo To Go has a 3 week delay on shipping orders, due to their backlog, but was willing to work with me, so I could get the Z-Max ammo here in time for my friend's going away party. Definitely great customer service! :thumbsup:
