you don't give the .22 enough credit. More cops are killed by .22's than any other caliber.

The nasty thing about them is they will have enough energy to penetrate, but not exit or break any other bones. What happens is the round bounces around your insides and just shreds it up.

If someone gets shot in the head there will only be one hole and a brain that resembles scrambled eggs.

This is so full of bunk. If the round had enough energy to bounce around it would keep going straight. This is one of the oldest gun myths in the book.

Wife and I each have 22's. Both are great guns.

My buckmark. Now has the sights removed and a red dot added.

Wifes stainless slabside. Probably the nicest 22 out there.

Those are some weird-looking guns...

<--only fired rifles and frankly little to no experience or time spent with handguns

my fave...gotta love the bolt....I could shoot like 30 rounds at a few hundred yards in a quarter-sized circle....prone...standing....whatever...only gun that sounded good too

edit: and no scope....

just that little v-sight there to torment me...

Ok, I gotta call shens. At a few hudnred yards, I can probably barely see my target, much less a bullseye without a scope.

.

The Glock is a 357SIG, not .357MAG. The 357SIG is a .40S&W case necked down to a regular 9mm bullet. It's a really fun screamer of a round, but it isn't up to the .357MAG's level of power.

There are Desert Eagles chambered in .357MAG, as far as I know that's the only semi-auto in that caliber.

I actually don't like the 357sig that much. I just stick to the .40 in my P229. I was considering getting a Browning Buckmark stainless standard for fun plinking but ended up getting a s&w MP in 9mm.

I carry my 229, and my USP compat in .357 Sig. Markedly better penetration through barriers\cover than most other pistol rounds. Ammo is ridiculously expensive for it though.

One of the main reasons why I don't like it. Only actually.

They made them for a while, but are now discontinued.
Keep looking, a used one may turn up.
OP, I've had more fun with .22 rifles and pistols than any other.
One of my favorites was the H&R 999
Link to a collector's item auction.
It was a top break 9 shot DA revolver.

Shouldn't be a problem if you hit a person. Just don't miss.

Texas Highway Patrol and Secret Service both use it. Only thing I don't like about it is the cost. Plus it's pretty snappy in a compact, compared to a .40 s&w.
