Well, 4 years ago she was a bitch and an a manipulative control freak. She's mellowed out a lot since then and I think she's mature enough that we're on an even footing.

As far as the "worn out" thing goes.... I challenge you to find a girl who's been through a 4 year college and not been given a good stretching. I can look past that... at least this time.

You don't have to believe in God to see some truth in that statement. Circumstance, environment, morals and genetics (among other things) could have led both of you to positions where being friends is the only natural outcome.

out of all seriousness, u sound like me when i was a lot younger. don't be blinded by emotions. you have to be practical. if you really, really like her a lot; u know u have to play games or else she's going to be hard to get. from what u've said so far, i think she still have doubts. listen, don't show all ur cards yet. don't women all love surprises? even if both of u were really made for each other, always act like you're more than she can ever afford. good luck.

If there are any problems with her, she isn't the girl of your dreams... There is no spark because one of you needs to be the spark and the other needs to be the reaction.. Kind of like when a person makes a joke and the other person laughs at it, the other person says something and the initial person laughs as well, going back and forth like a car engine. If one doesn't initiate the spark, there can't be a reaction, if one initiates the spark but the other doesn't respond/react then there will be nothing. This is your problem it appears.
