this is not a joke. this kind of joke would take way too much time to invest into. Face it, I'm a little different than most, and like to ask tons and tons of questions about the same topic, even when I'm not out there experiencing it. Why not go after every woman you see? You are going to get shot down almost all the time, so the key is quantity, not quality.

First thing is that you're looking for a girlfriend. That will pretty much rule out you finding anyone. Get out more. Put yourself in more social situations. Things will happen naturally. The harder you're actively seeking a girfriend you will absolutely NOT get one. If by some chance you did manag, she's likely a very neurotic needy nut job who will make you miserable.

As for looks, the hair has to go. That's the biggest weak point. Grow it a little longer and do the messy thing. That's a look that fits most guys well. Contacts would help too but the hair is critical. Undo that pressed down thing right away. As far as standards go, for now take anyone willing. Once you build up some confidence and the right perspective (meaning you're ok as you are. You don't need a girl, but if you like one you go for her) then you can be choosier. Right now you just need some experience to give you this mindset. Once youve been with a few girls you'll be alright with yourself. You won't feel the need to find someone. You'll also know what you want in a woman. Right now all you know is looks. Then and only then are you ready to really get a real girlfriend that actually means something.

What I'm saying is that both things need to be there. She needs to have a good personality and be someone that I get along with, and have things in common with, AND I would also like it if I was at least somewhat attracted to her.

Not to sound shallow or anything but I just can't relate to super good looking people who go out and date ugly people. I guess I just can't understand how looks wouldnt matter. Part of the reward of dating a female, to me, seems to be the physical attraction, and physical actions involved, and that is only something that you can legitamately get from the woman that you are dating, so why not date the woman with the best personality and best appearances that you can find?

You ever see really ugly guys with hot girls? You'r attitude is more important than actual looks. Looks help, but basically the less looks you have , the cooler you have to be. It does happen, and more than you think.

Based only on looks, if you fix yourself up you'd be decent. Right now, you are not a 5. More like 2-3 ish. Fix yourself up and you could be likely 5-6 ish. But even if you look decent, if you're shy or dorky you're right back down to 2 (or less) again.

Here's the only standard/scale/rating system I use, take it or leave it. 1 or 0. My standard is asking myself, "Could I enjoy spending time with her?" If yes, she's a 1 and worth persuing. If not, she's a 0 and I'll look elsewhere. I don't worry she's out of my league, I'm too ugly or whatever. Getting shot down is NOT the end of the world, you just have to try it a few times to convince yourself of that. But really, you are WAY overthinking this, just let it happen and stop treating it like a puzzle you have to solve.

And seriously, go to a (female) stylist, preferably at some place that caters to young people. It's more expensive, but it's worth it if you really want nice looking hair. Trust me, it feels a little weird the first time you go to a salon after years of going to a barber, but there are two advantages here. First, I trust women my age to know what women my age like, so you'll get a better 'do. Second, most salons are mostly filled with women, so there's your first chance to meet some

I assume the ultimate goal for all these questions is to score a lady. If that's the case, my advice would be to stop thinking about it. Doesn't matter what you are rated, what she is rated, etc... as long as you enjoy each other's company.

The best thing for you is probably to make friends with girls as often as possible. Don't think of them as love interests. I think this will help immensely.
