On the other hand, an argument can be made that such harshness will stop such female stupidity and irrationality in its tracks.. (if such a thing is possible..)

i'm worried that won't fix her problems with trust and instead just keep her from discussing them with you and working them out.

as far as trust goes, its usually up to the person. if they are secure about themselves; have self esteem, etc. I don't give her a reason to not trust me so whatever she believes is up to her.
