Is this a parody thread? I don't think anyone would honestly submit themselves to the ATOT hounds. 2004 join date, you should know better I think.
QFT. Most black folk can't even pull off braids right. No offense, but the entire style is not you, it's written all over your face. Find yours, not what MTV says yours should be. Style is about self-expression and individuality. If you have to ask ATOT for acceptance, that should tell you something right there.
I'm 24, originally from inner-city Boston. I was up on fitted New Eras before when you could only order them from catalogs (early 90s, Manny's Baseball Land FTW). I stopped wearing throwbacks when Mitchell & Ness turned them into a $400(!) status symbol that somehow everyone still had... and I'm proud to say I've never worn one of those silly ass pinwheel hats. Or Hawaiian shirts. Or overpriced Iceberg sh!t with the Disney characters on them (that was ALWAYS stupid to me). Or NASCAR jackets. Or any of the umpteen other fads I was supposed to be wearing at any given time... just find yourself, and be that.
And one other thing: to play up this street image then turn around and say some straight up metro sh!t like "pink is the new red" is just confusing, homey. Did that hat/shirt combo come with complimentary moisturizer? Wear pink because you like pink, not because Cam'ron does.
