Did you consider a conversion barrel?

I bought one for my Glock .40, have never had a misfire or FTF yet, very impressed...

wtf? why do .22 conversions cost like $300 for other guns? man, i;d love to find a .22 conversion for that price for my 1911 or CZ

because that is just a drop in barrel, I don't know about the CZ, but the 1911 kit replaces the magazines, slide, and barrel.

That's a .357 sig to .40 S&W conversion. The casings are similar enough that they work in the same magazines, and only require a barrel change.

oh yeah, thats only the barrel isn't it? .22 conversions require a separate slide as well.

well, its still too friggin much!

Diminishing returns apply to your level of safety as your purchase more guns. Once you have an assault rifle, a long range rifle, a shotgun and a pistol, you stop seeing large returns to safety, as additional guns will only serve to arm your friends and family in a SHTF situation.

At that point, I recommend buying other essentials, like body armor, gas masks, OC gas grenades, and of course, thousands of rounds of ammunition.

Look at what you're changing compared to what you're changing on other guns. It's just the barrel.

In most states, yes. Here in Utah I can buy a gun from an individual. No registration, no license, no tax.

Same here, the local want ad newspaper has lots of good deals.

Sometimes it is preferable to buy one via private sale, then there is no paperwork or anything involved.

Kind of OT but can civilians buy the p228 or are they law enforcement only?

Nice pistol by the way. If I was going to get a pistol it'd definitely be a Sig.

Absolutely, there should be no issues with a civilian buying a Sig P228.

Yeah...it's called the black market.

You can buy a gun anywhere without a license off the black market. Here in the US were we value (most of) our freedoms it's 100% legal.

Aside from they've been removed from Sigs civilian product line while Sig struggles to fullfill worldwide government contracts.

I have 2 Sig 228s. A standard one with crimson trace laser grips, and a two tone safe queen. The standard one has perforated two bad guys in it's lifetime. Great gun!

But a 229 in .357 sig has it's place in the world.

I would add a decent night vision device. Came in damn handy in the aftermath of Katrina. Even if you have a generator that vast majority do not have power. That means very few lights and no streetlights and that equates to dark as hell.
