...asking what love feels like on a forum where most the guys haven't even gone on a date yet. But yet, here goes anyway. To all three of you in here who's experienced it before, how do you know when you're in love?

Uh. There's really not a way to measure or quantify it.

I would say you know you're in love when you want to see someone for no particular reason: A booty call =! love. Perhaps when you want to pick up the phone and call someone simply because you wish to hear their voice, that might be love.

Do not confuse love with lust however. Love takes time to develop, for me it's always happened a few months after I started dating someone.

That's just my opinion though. Others may disagree.

Stupid answer, but you just know. It's not one specific feeling, it's a whole host of things. When you're with that person, they are what matters, they are someone you can trust, physically and emotionally, and you care for each other's well-being very deeply.

It's tough to explain, but you'll know.

After a while it doesn't always feel like much, except when you're faced with the thought or reality of being apart for a while either temporarily or permanently, whereas it then feels like major drug withdrawal culminating from the gut.

That is often why when things are going bad, they can get messy, because your emotions involuntarily require you to be concerned about things in a more magnified controlling way than if it were just a friend.

However, most of the time he/she is not.
