She doesnt say anything for 3 minutes, then says "maybe."
I respond with a "WTF?"
she responds with "Im going to be honest - im going to visit him on the 6th of October"
And the conversation ends on that note.

Now, its about 12:30 in the morning, and im lying down trying to sleep, but i can't because my mind is racing. At about 3 AM, after tossing and turning and letting my mind wander places I was scared of it going, I decided i needed to call her.
So i call her, and at this point in time i was pretty upset so my voice sounded very shaky and sad
she answers "hi"
I say "Hi, shari..... *slight sob*"
she says back "Babe, whats wrong? I love you, Chris. Are you ok?"



Three years of my life gone in one sentence.
I'm never talking to her again.

That 'maybe' caught me off-guard. I thought you were going to say she threw a hissy-fit about, "How dare you suspect me? Do you not trust me?"

Then I thought, she meant, "Maybe it will be a problem, only if you make it a problem" (You know, one of those weird things girls say to jealous boyfriends when they flirt with random guys)

But dude, this sounds pretty bad. I feel sorry for you man. As for your decision, Good for You!

Yep, thats how I saw it too. I'm not sticking around for this "maybe later" stuff. Its been a really good three years, and for her to end our relationship with such a lack of respect for me shows me a lot about who she really is and how much she really cared. So, although it hurts, a lot, im not gonna talk to her, im going to forget she existed, and move on. After I drink this beer.

QFT. In my opinion, I'd say that's the best thing to do...and you're a stronger man than me for actually being able to do it.

I'd really doubt she didn't know it was the OP. My guess is that she was either thinking about--or possibly talking to--this Chris guy before the OP called, and so when she said a name, his was the first to spring to mind.
