I own a Mark III. It's fun for plinking. now i'm thinking of putting my concealed carry license to good use, and get a concealed weapon.

So far i've tried (all 9mm):
Glock 26: 3.5" barrel, 6.25" overall, 19.75oz
Smith + Wesson MP9 compact: 3.5", 6.7", 21.7oz
Springfield Armory XD subcompact: 3.1", 6.25" 20.5oz

went thru a box of the cheapest ammo the range sells for each. no jams.
the MP9 compact was the most accurate. but it was also the longest gun in the batch.

then i read about the smallest mass production 9mm:
KelTec PF9: 3.1" barrel, 5.85" overall, 12.7oz
Reviews say it's not a target range gun. After a box of ammo, your hand will start hurting. but great to fit in your pants pocket.

If you have a concealed carry gun, what is it? why did you choose it?
and has it ever jammed on you?

I have the Smith and Wesson you mentioned in the full size version. I ADORE this gun. A friend at my local gun store has a 380 Keltec that he carries at the store. Its cool, but waaaaay to small for me. Incredibly uncomfortable to shoot, especially in 380.

Depends on what I'm wearing, summer either a Ruger LCP or LCR, in winter with heaver clothes either S&W MP9 or S&W Model 19 .357. Just depends on how much weight I'm willing to carry and how easy it is to conceal.

The LCP only jammed on the 2nd magazine I fed it but since then it hasn't missed a beat, (only shoot it enough to stay accurate, maybe a half a box a month) . The M&P is reliable and the other 2 are revolvers.

Don't have a CCW yet. Not sure what I could stand to carry, but I have several to choose from:

Springfield Armory xDM 9mm
Springfield Armory 1911 Compact 45
FN Herstal FNP-45 (might be too big)
FN Herstal Five-Seven (might be too big as well)

My XDM 45 is a bit big as well, but it'll certainly stop someone. I may look at getting something else. I don't know about 9mm though, I prefer a bit more power.

Don't need to here unless you're in your car.

Anyway, Ruger Security Six .357 magnum or S&W Sigma .40.

I carry either an HK P30 or a Dan Wesson 1911 Commander.

If I was buying another one, I'd be looking at a M&P for a full/compact weapon or a Sig Sauer P238 for a sub-compact/pocket gun.

Right now, nothing.
Will soon be a Ruger LCP. Was thinking about one of the pocket Keltecs, but general consensus is the Rugers are built slightly better.
Also thought about the Sig P238, but decided against it. Will probably buy the gun after my little cousins are done visiting.

Used to own a Sigma .40, but I think it would be a little too big for concealing on my tiny bod.

Once my order comes in, Smith and Wesson Bodyguard .380 w/extra mag. Hornady Critical Defense for ammo (assuming it runs in the S&W, which it should).

Kel-Tec P3AT in front right pocket.

interesting.. never thought of .380.
Isnt it a little under powered?

and does your pinky fit on the handle, or does it dangle like the glock 26? and need a magazine extension like the XD subcompact?

Rugar LCR- How's the recoil of the .38specials with those short barrels?

.380, .22LR, .44mag, it's all the same. All that matters is shot placement. A .44 to the gut isn't going to be as effective as a .22LR to the CNS.

And it does dangle, but there is a grip adapter which gives a little place for the pinky. I'm 6'0 and about 180lbs and can get my whole hand on there (can't without the grip part though).

Plus it's small so can carry it anytime. A .380 in the pocket is better than a 1911 at home on the counter.

I'd like to have the Beretta PX4 Storm Subcompact .40. I wonder if they make it in Type C. If so, that's the kind I want. No CCW yet, however.
