Rugers are POS. They feel cheap in your hands like Timex compared to a swiss watch SIG. I only have one or should I say my boy does a 10/22. Won't even extract 100% of the time. Save your money unless broke IMO.

And like a Timex, Rugers take a licken and keep on ticken. I own quite a few Rugers and every one has been a fine gun, there's nothing fancy about them, they're just a hard working gun that's accurate and dependable.

The great thing about gun enthusiasts is we all have differing opinions on gun makers, models, calibers etc. but in the end the thing we all agree on is that we all love to shoot.

Absolutely.:awe: That's why I always say find a good shop with demo's on hand so you can try. It's weird how one guy will love shooting something and friend will hate it. But you generally do get what you pay for.

I carry a Walther PPS. It's very small, easy to conceal (I can do it with just a tshirt and shorts), and most importantly it shoots comfortably and accurately.

I think the thing to remember about a concealed carry weapon is the situations where you might likely need to use it are not ones where you are going to pull it out, line up the sites, or turn on the laser site and focus on the target before squeezing the trigger. Anything that can be drawn quickly and fired accurately over a 10yd range will work. I have heard of situations where people ran off just because they were shocked that someone else actually had a gun and no shots were fired. If you hit someone like a rapist with a .22 they will try to flee. They are not going to take the time to examine the wound and chance getting shot again.

I carry a Glock 27 in the summer and a Glock 22 in the winter. I really want one the new S&W .38 Bodyguard revolvers as well.

Depends on what I am wearing and what holster I want to use. In the summer I typically carry a J-Frame S&W .38 special in my front pant or short pocket. Occasionally I will carry a full size 1911 in either .45 or 10mm (usually 10mm), in a Comp-tac mtac holster.

When I am snowmobiling in the winter, I carry a galco miami classic shoulder holster under my jacket with my 10mm 1911 loaded with double tap ammo.

If I am going to wear a jacket or something that will cover up a belt holster, I will sometimes carry my Sig 229 in .40 or my Glock 19 in Galco paddle holsters.

Depends on rapist. My uncle was a homicide detective in SD in 60s and 70's and unloaded six 38's in a guys chest and still got his ass beat a little before guy collapsed and died. PCP hellofdrug. Dude was about 6'6" 260.

BTW- I used to love seeing all the death albums he kept at home when visiting my cousins. Shotguns FTW.

hm.. what do you think about LCR in .357 but use .38specials?

would this be less recoil since it's heavier?
plus gives you the option of using .357, say in the last chamber?

I honestly don't have an opinion, I haven't seen one yet let alone shoot one. The one thing I will say is that if you do get one it's worth the little extra cost to get the night sight on the front blade. I seen one at the local gun shop and made a world of difference in acquiring a quick sight picture. I put a Hi-viz front sight on mine which is almost as good., (I did put a small scratch in it, I hate knocking out roll pins!).

I've heard that they are making an LCR in .357 but haven't seen or read anything more than that. I have a large frame 4" barrel Colt Trooper in .357 and shooting .357 out if that is painful, so I couldn't imagine shooting .357 out of a short barreled, light gun like the LCR.

I have a .38 special S&W Model 36 1 7/8" barrel and I shoot that just fine. It's probably heavier than the LCR as its all steel. After awhile my hand starts to hurt, but thats because I can only get 2 fingers on the grip (my pinky has no where to go). I'm sure if I got a slightly larger and rubber grip, I would have no problems at all.

Even +p .38 special isn't too bad.

I find even a compact XD to be too large to really conceal without completely changing my wardrobe. That is why I love my PPS so much. It's 9mm, 7 shot and invisible until I need it.

Alright. I went ahead and got the Ruger LCP and already having problems. I didnt load any ammo into it at first so I have no idea how well it feeds.
I field stripped it so I could get an idea of how it works and how simple it is to clean. When putting it back together I made sure everything was in the right place and followed the directions closely. But now it wont feed ammo. Rounds dont come up out of the magazine properly and when I manually load one it wont let the slide close all the way.
After fishing it out I disassembled the thing again and dont see any issues. There is an ample amount of oil but not too much. Nothing is sticking. Also, when the slide is locked back the barrel feels really loose and wobbley. I know thats not right. But when I take it apart everything is sitting nice and neat where it should be.

couldnt you just clean by spraying gun cleaner down the ejector opening? then use an air compressor and blow all liquid/dirt/debris down and out the handle?

I could, but sooner or later I need to know how to disassemble the gun. And when its put back together properly it should feed properly.

Also, it doesnt look like this sucker allows you to manually load one round. BUT, with a lot of work I got it to feed from the magazine, poorly.
I may need to take it to my local gunsmith and have something adjusted.

can you make a video of what happens?
have you watched any disassembly/reassembly videos online?

When you say the rounds don't come up out of the magazine properly, can you elaborate? Did you disassemble the mag? the spring and follower should push the round up tight against the lips of the mag, even with just one round.

You did get both springs back in there right? Also do you have another mag to try?

Also with the barrel out of the gun you can test fit a round to see how well they fit.

As mentioned, make sure the springs are seated correctly, that would be the only thing I could think of. Dry rack the slide a few times to make sure it will cycle, then try again.

My Keltec P11 won't load the round easily unless I pretty much drop the slide on it. When firing it has no problem, but chambering the first round is a bit iffy.

Cant make a video. Watched plenty online, but they are poor quality and make it seem like there should never be a problem with reassembly.
The bullet (a hydra shok) just goes straight forward and sticks in the well, instead of angling up and properly going inside the barrel.
When disasembled the bullets fit just fine in the barrel. The magazine works fine, and so does the spare. I have not meddled with either of them.

My county (and CA in general) suck ass in trying to get a permit..

I do have a CZ75BD but it's probably a little big to conceal carry anyways.

have you tried any FMJ rounds? I know some guns have problems feeding hollow points (or at least some brands/types of HPs).
