Yahoo to confirm data breach

I changed my password after the first breach notice and now this? If it was not for the old yahoo account that I have for years with all the old emails and contacts, I would drop Yahoo like a hot potato.

This is pretty much the reason why most people still stick with Yahoo.
Gmail does have a "import" option from yahoo, but, that does NOT work for lots of people. It can retrieve some e-mails, but, then it ends up erroring out.

You can import stuff if you use imap/pop3 you can then drag and drop from one account to the other. If stuff is really important you probably should have a proper backup anyway. I would never trust important stuff to a 3rd party, especially a free service.

Even the stuff that's on my online/leased server I have backups at home. Should that server fall off the face of the planet, I could redeploy a new server at the same or another provider, setup all my scripts then just resync all the websites.

I tried for a while to find out how to make Outlook do that. Set it to download full messages, increased the timeout, checked filters, etc. Wouldn't show any email before May 2014, while Thunderbird shows everything back to 1999.

Well, I just looked. nothing I can find either. outlook 2010. can confirm I have an e-mail from 1999 showing up and accessible. not sure what to suggest.

I love the "2013" date followed by "please change your password" as a 'fix'. LOL. Oh internet.

i changed my password last month.
now its forcing me to change it again.

how does a breach from 3yrs ago affect my new password from last month??
