UPS for the dsl and the router, notebook with some batteries for me. i've got a couple more UPSes that may be suitable for running the notebook if it wears down.

i'm starting to get rain on the other window. all night i've had it on the NW facing window, now i'm getting it on the SW facing window.
centerpoint says that almost no customers served by overhead lines are getting service, just about all 2 million customers. a meter is a customer, so that's almost 4 million people.
