I bought the monitor because I needed the extra inputs plus it has actual OSD, see pics below, and everything I read, that scared me after I bought it, was it was to have this massive lag because of having those extra inputs.

Well I played
DiRT 2
DiRT 3 which I ended up getting the best time ever first try after hooking up and testing
Bioshock
Half Life 2
Peggle
FEAR
Prey

And I had to ask myself, where is all this lag I read about on OC.net. I even turned on VSync because that was to make things even worse and it didnt. I had it on for DiRT3 and I didnt crash one time, as usual, and posted the best lap time I ever did first try after hooking this thing up. So if I was to have this "lag" why was I doing so good. In all the games driving or FPS when I turned/moved it moved with NO lag I could see at all. Which makes me happy I bought this monitor. I got OSD, 3 inputs, and high res.

Anyway enough about this, that I could not find, now about the monitor.
One word
AWESOME!
Text, colors, brightness, contrast, movies, they all just POP off the screen. Reminds me of the good old CRT days, which I still have my old 22" crt in the basement that goes much higher then this thing does, but the dot pitch and higher res reminds me of them old days playing at max res and everything was so clear. I know some of you kids are like "whats a crt monitor"? Its something that has an even higher res and didnt cost quite as much. I think I paid $120 for my 22", which was HUGE back in the day.

I tried a Blu Ray movie, 2012, using just my Powerdvd 10 program and thats all and it played so Im guessing this is HDCP compliant, or at least this monitor is.

I couldnt go higher then 60hz no matter what I tried so no 120hz for me but thats alright for it doesnt bother me like it does some folks.

Stand is wobbly but I have no plans on hitting it as I play, and my desk is sturdy so it wont wobble around.

HDMI works fine. No higher res then 1080P though.

My ac adapter has the larger sticker that actually says 110v to 240v on it. Not a paste on sticker on the label that says 110v ready. See pic below. I did have to use an old monitor cable for the cable it comes with is wrong, and they dont give an adapter. No big deal for me at least. It does get warm, not hot to where you cant touch it, but def warm. Im disabled and play/sit here for 12+ hours a day so I will see how reliable this monitor/ac adapter is.

VGA I havent tried yet because I need an rca to 3.55mm audio cable, monoprice here I come. I plan on using it for my cable tv hook up so I can watch tv on here like I did with my old Sceptre 32" tv/monitor I was using that this replaced.

Got mine from Green Sum and it left on the 31st and made it to my doorstep the 2nd. So 3 days DHL.

No dead pixals I could find. Slight light bleeding in both right and left lower corners but no OMG its so bright I cant stand it! Its just very slight and not really noticeable unless the lights are off and your looking for it. I believe I paid $379 for it shipped from Green Sum on fleebay.

All in all though. If your looking for a MULTI monitor, high res, and dont want to pay much, and worried about "lag", I would say get this one. I found NO LAG whatsoever, and if there is I dont know how to find it, or how they found it, because I did great in all the games I have so far tested with it. I just feel that they assumed that since it has more inputs that its then gotta have more lag then the single input monitors do. Buy one and actually try it before you just say these things is what I got to say about that kind of thinking.

Now pics:

run an app that makes a clock with a high degree of accuracy count on your monitor, also hook up a second monitor, run app and take a photo of both. Now you will be able to easily compare the speed of your current monitor vs the other.

Input lag is there and very real. If you played street fighter and knew how to time moves based on frames you would see thst some moves are impossible to pull off correctly with. Vsync on adding input lag.

I can feel the input lag with Vsync on but it is not a problem in every game.

I notice input lag on every game with vsync on regardless of monitor. It's not subjective if you turn it on and play then off and play again. You will notice. Whether or not it impacts the gameplay is up to you.

No I did not, just went for it and took luck of the draw. Besides I saw more people complaining about light bleed then dead or stuck pixels. And if it had one, you be very hard pressed to find it for they are so tiny. Huge diff between this one and the one I was running before, Im glad I took the plunge. I also ordered my audio cable from monoprice for .61 cents so once I get it and use my adapter for the vga input I can continue to watch tv on here since it also has speakers.

Ive used several different monitors/tvs and I have yet to notice it. Maybe you just suck at games and are using that excuse as to why your sucking........at games.

No...you have no idea what you're talking about. Input lag exists and your denial of this is ridiculous when it's even documented on Anandtech in this link. What you don't seem to get is, just because you don't notice it doesn't mean it is not there. It's like micro stutter with SLi or Xfire setups, it's always there no matter what but some people don't see it. If you always use vsync you would never know. Most HDTVs have 16ms of input lag (about 1 frame) a few models have less. There is a reason people turn vsync off when they are trying to compete and it's not to get past 60fps. Many people turn vsync off even with 120hz monitors.

http://www.anandtech.com/show/2794/2
In other words, with triple buffering we get the same high actual performance and similar decreased input lag of a vsync disabled setup while achieving the visual quality and smoothness of leaving vsync enabled.

You can get full screen on my pics if you click on them, go to the site, then select full screen. If you want to see them larger. I shot them with my Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0. Takes great shots IMO.

Gratz on your Catleap. I've my PCBANK going on 5 months now and it's still awesome. Best monitor I have owed since the early 1990's.

I got one of these monitors a few days ago and I'm very impressed. I got a chance to try out some old games and some new ones at 1440p (Guild Wars 2 looks amazing!) and I'm like a kid in a candy store.

When it makes the game unplayable? No I won't ignore it.

The point is, majority of people don't even notice it. I've tried dozens and dozens of monitors over the years. Never notice it. Dell U2410 i have I play tons of games on it, FPS, RPG, etc without any ghosting/input lag at all.

Just because a program detects higher than normal input lag/ghosting does not mean its something that translates to "OMG WORST MONITOR EVER" syndrome.

If its making games unplayable to you, you should should really see a eye doctor, you might even be suffering from nasua from motion sickness and not even know it.

I guess nobody reads threads anymore and follows links. Anandtech has two articles I linked above discussing input lag and the impact on games and a link on shoryuken forums talking about screens thay have low enough input lag for competitive game play.

Just cause you don't see input lag or feel it does not mean it doesn't exist. With Vsync on the input lag from every monitor is going to increase. As I mentioned before, some games become hard to play when your movements don't translate on the screen quick enough. Telling me that my eyes need checked is stupid because input lag has almost nothing to so with what you see. It has to do with a delay in your aim or movement when you press a key or move the mouse. At least understand what you are talking about before telling someone they are blind or something.

If you always play with Vsync then you have never experienced the better mouse control when turning it off. It is as simple as that.

Try doing a search for input lag vs screen tearing and you will find a lot of threads discussing the pros and cons of Vsync.

You can also find a 700+ page discussion on Catleap monitors on ovetclock.net and it has been mentioned probably a hundred times that multi input monitors introduce more input lag by default. Nobosy said the monitors are crap nor did I. I think you guys need to do a little more research to understand what happens under the hood. If you don't care that's one thing, but don't call someone out when they are presenting info you don't want to admit exists.

I also own a Catleap so don't think I am bias against them. I wouldnt keep it if I hated it.

Input lag is a very subjective thing. If you're used to it you will never notice it. Once you switch to a monitor that has far less input lag than you are used to you will go , "Oh, now I see it."

I went from a crappy 22" acer monitor that had a ton of input lag to a Samsung 2233xl (probably the wrong model) that had less than a frame of input lag, and I noticed a HUGE difference, and my FPS play improved immensely.

Recently I went from that samsung to a new 23" Samsung 120hz and once again it was a revelation in terms of monitor responsiveness. A few people on the forums have played some BF3 with me and I don't mean to pat myself on the back, but there aren't many players who are better than me. I credit a lot of that to just having the best equipment possible to play on.
