Does anyone know where to find reviews about this player? I can't seem to find anything about it anywhere. It seems like a great price, though.

Aside from the looks, the stats are pretty impressive. It beats the dam ipod mini in several ways (supports wma/drm, m3u playist support, built in recorder). The only problem is the 750mAh battery is WAY too low for a mp3 player. You wont get much time outta this one before another recharge.

That looks exactly like the Perception Digital PD-1001: http://perceptiondigital.com/products/audio/1001/

At least you can see the full features and specs.

I liked my old PD-1000. The only drawback is that it didn't have external playlist management and it's tedious to pick one song at a time to build a playlist in the player's interface. I used the genre tag to make virtual playlists since the player allows grouping (and grouping + shuffle) by almost every tag. It also allows grouping (& grouping + shuffle) by directory.

It lasts a lot longer than you think. The PD-1000 is also a 1" HDD player with a 900mAH battery and the battery lasted 8-10 hours with my typical use (random + some manual skipping around), unless you manually skip around on every track. A 750mAH battery (if ecost's specs are right... see the link above, PD shows 900mAH) would still give 7-8 hours of typical use. Not exceptional, but still on par with many iPods for actual use time.

The Neuros, I got one from woot many months ago for $250, the thing's a brick though, but the features are pretty nice. http://www.neurosaudio.com should have some specs/info..

Are you asking if it's a compact flash drive? Of course it's not.

In the best case the drive might have an "ATA flex" (IDE or CF mode) interface, which uses a 0.8" wide flat ribbon cable and operates on 3.3v, but you would have no way of interfacing it or even selecting the start up mode. Or in a more typical case, it might be a Cornice-like drive that's basically a platter and read/write head and the interface electronics exist on the host device itself.
