This video is ugly and these women deserve severe punishment, but I don't see anything suggesting this was a racially-motivated attack. Seems to me like the assailants are just violent bitches. I also don't think this reflects some generalized lapse of decency in this country - violent crime has been steadily on the decrease for nearly 20 years.

Doubt it. I think morally their inaction is hard to excuse, but I guarantee you that in our litigious culture, the last thing McDonald's would ever want is its employees intervening in violent conflicts. They'd be likelier to have been fired if they HAD interfered.

Will be interesting to see how McDonald's handles this. I'm surprised it hasn't gotten more national news attention given that the victim was white, transgender, and didn't/couldn't fight back.

The employees not getting involved thing could go a bunch of different ways, but those guys filming it seemed to be laughing and entertained by the whole ordeal. I think in the end that McDonald's will fire them, not because they didn't get involved, but because they didn't call the police at the first sign of trouble. The cameraman or one of his buddies didn't say "call the police" until they thought the victim was having a seizure, and that was way after the fight started.

All I can say is that the game and impact changes when you have a family of your own to consider. Being single/kidless gives you a little less to worry about for your actions.

I simply can't lift as heavy anymore...it's not going to stop me from beating someone down. It's more now that they don't see that coming, and yes sometimes the next day is a bit rough.
