Thing is, don't cops even try to restrain anymore? It's either they'll totally beat someone to a pulp, or they'll tase. What ever happened to actually restraining someone into cuffs? Not that it would have been ok in this particular case since the guy did not even do anything wrong.

The Video looks bad. I hope the cops get jail time for not only the beating but also giving false information in a police report. Without this video the person getting beat would have been looking at jail time. However I am not hopefully that anything will come out of this. The City will settle out of court for the civil suit and all the cops will stay silent and nobody will be prosecuted.

It really isn't right that people go to jail over police lying. Cops should wear some type of camera while on duty. They have it in cars, why not on themselves?

There's the $1,000,000 question. I'm betting they get no jail time whatsoever. If it were you or me, we'd probably get at least a year. That's assuming they didn't try to go for some lame attempted murder charge. These guys will get fired, and that's about it.

they are already setting up why and how nobody will get nailed. in the article the police say its hard to tell who it was since they were in riot gear. You also know damn well none of the other officers are going to say who it was.

they aren't even sure if the people who filled out the police report are teh officers.

so nothing is going to happen with this besides the kid getting a lot of money.

What happened before filming is irrelevant to whether this was police brutality or not. And I'm usually on the side of the cops.

Watching the news last night (see location), I saw an interview with PG County's Police Chief and he said they're "having trouble identifying the officers in the video."

I can already see where this is going...

"We don't know which officers beat the shit out of that kid, sooooooooooo we can't do anything about it. Sorry!"

Yea but most cellphones are awful. They may show who hit who first or outright lies. But I doubt they would be able, from this distance, to show enough to ID a person 100%.

If that was me I wouldnt be so happy about my state/PD paying a lot of money because some thugs decided to beat down a kid and then lie about it. I'd want the two officers strung up by their balls and paying every cent of those kids expenses.

Really, in cases like this, I think an officer committed of a crime should get double the sentence that a civilian would get. They represent law and order, and as such are an embarrasment and a shame. And then convicted of fraud for those charge sheets. If it wasnt for that video, those kids would have got a beatdown and then a jail sentence. Nice.

Yep the same PG county force that killed a town mayor's family pet on a mistaken identity bust and then lied about why they did it, the same PG county police that beat a sleeping man senseless when they thought they were arresting a cop killer. I don't see why there's any problem tying the officers who wrote their reports about the incident basically admitting that they were there and involved with security footage of the incident.

How on earth would the officers be able to get out of that?
