I voted yes. They attacked the officer simply doing his job. I'd have shot the kid as soon as he came at me, if I was the cop.

the backup cop came and started shooting. he had no idea what happened or how many people were in the vehicle.

The only reason backup game like that was because he officer was being assaulted, or at the very least, dealing with an unruly person. It also looks like he was shooting at the back driver side tire, not into the actual cabin. So, I have no problem with a car speeding off from officers being shot at. The lady should be put in jail and have her kids taken away for putting her kids in that kind of danger.

But, since she was black, I'm sure she will sue and drum up a bunch of "omg the cops are racist" garbage and walk away with a fat check.

It was no longer a ticket after the son attacked the officer and she decided to resist arrest. And, the officer didn't just shoot into the cabin from what I saw in the video.

The LADY put her kids in danger. If they were shot during the bullshit she started, SHE should be held liable.

Cops? It looked like one cop fired one shot. It also looked like he squared up into iso stance and aimed carefully for a tire.

He missed. And the idea of shooting tires is generally pretty dumb.

But those are spectacular cops when compared to what we typically see in the news. The first dude should get a medal for not punching that lady's lights out or shooting the 'kid' when he escalated it into a fight.

Pretty sure the penalty for an assault that wasn't on-going isn't death.

Thus why he pulled out his taser to stop the kid the first time and the other one didn't shoot at the inside of the van from what I can see.

The cop that pulled the taser isn't the one that fired at a moving vehicle.

no reason to shoot.

The risk of shooting one or maybe two shots at the tire of a fleeing vehicle is incredibly less than the risk of a high speed chase. The officer was completely justified, but "society" will be up in arms over while policemen harassing a black family, as usual.

No. The family was completely stupid, though, and that 14 year old is hella lucky he didn't get shot. Surprised the first cop drew tazer and not pistol when outnumbered by psycho bitch and violent son.

Shooting wasn't necessary, though, unless it is part of policy to aim for tires (if he was doing that.

The backup cop probably shouldn't have used his weapon but oh well hu. The minivan occupants are quite guilty

The cop have plenty of evidence (video recoring) that the driver fled the scene, hence there is no need to escalate the situation. It would make more sense to sent the drive a ticket and/or court date for the not obey the law, instead of escalate it by using force and then shoot at the minivan full of kids, and that lead to a chase which could lead to a serious crash and lost of lives.

IMHO, the US authority need to take a step back from their police state mentality and review their policies.

IMHO, cop need to learn to diffuse the situation, and no need to escalate it.

However, it seems as if people are willing to turn the US into a gestapo for a sense of security, then perhaps the government should change the law to shoot first and ask question later. That would definitely lower crimes and make the street safer for everyone in America.

Wow, so it is a police state mentality when you are attempting to give someone a simple speeding ticket, the flee the scene, are given the benefit of the doubt (weren't arrested for leaving the scene the first time), get belligerent, have someone else leave the vehicle and attempt to assault the officer TWICE, and then flee from multiple officers against? AND then lead police on a high speed chase?

IF that all just deserves a mail ticket, I hate the world we're going to live in when all you crybabies about police states get into power.

So fleeing from the cops is fine with you as long as they send a ticket to the registered vehicle owner?

Remind me of that the next time I am using a stolen vehicle with 100 pounds of cocaine and a dead hooker in the backseat.
