FOr those that beat Normal and come close to or beat Hard, other tha nbuilding a nice maze, what weapons do you go with and how high do you upgrade?

I beat easy very easily by just upgrading to as many sniper towers as I could. I came 2 levels away from beating normal by upgrading all the splash damage ones as high as they could go. I think I had 6 or 7 or so but those don't hit air targets so I also made some of the air towers in the middle of the screen and tried to upgrade those but didn't get them all the way up.

DIdn't go for a second try yet though.

That's me getting to lvl 47 on hard mode. You have to make a "kill zone." If you notice, creep pass near that middle area 3 times. I have freeze and darts there fully upgraded. The only reason I died is as you can see the immune aren't slowed with my freeze. I just didn't put out enough damage to kill them all. I think I may go with M4H's idea of creep juggling. I'm sure I could knock out those immune with that technique.

I just got punked out of a 7874 by the score submit bug. The line between "Plausible Score" and "Instant Hack" is getting thinner and thinner.

Here's my general layout.

I switch things around drastically as soon as the last wave of fliers gets swatted, so my end-game map submissions are always horribly wrong - and I botched the MSPaint-attempt to make that one look right, but that's the general idea there.

Thanks a bunch! By using my own variation of this, I was finally able to beat it on hard with 14 lives left! I made 28th on the scoreboard with 5344 points!

Got to the boss on Normal but couldn't kill them.

Ah, so for the juggling, I could just kill the one blok right at the right of the top opening and then block off the opening just below that block and the creeps would turn around and go back for another round of killing? hmm. Interesting.

Bump from the dead. Someone had the gall to post that they were "the one who was always #1 on Hard" so I had to swing the Pimp Hand around in the upgraded difficulty.

Oh, and FYI, 8K != Instant Hack. I'm six points off on Normal.

Submitted for your review, gentlemen, I wonder if this maze might be of any use: diagonalCreepJuggle.jpg.

It should be pretty clear where the two juggle points are...

The creeps appear to move slower when going around bends, so I maximized the number of bends. I'm pretty sure creeps are getting through more because I have no timing skill and because I don't pick the right type of towers, so I'm not getting the full potential out of this maze.

Thoughts?

I told myself I'd quit playing since I was getting a little obsessive about hitting 8K and proving that it doesn't mean "Instant Hack" ... but now that someone's done that for me, I don't need to.

Besides, I think I hit my talent ceiling at the point records I put up.

Your juggle technique is sound, but you gotta have some upgraded towers. I bet you are sitting there juggling them for 10 minutes. Not to mention that the flying units are probably where you lost most of your lives.

Invest in some ice towers and create sort of a "kill zone" where the creeps are slowed and getting pounded by your hardest-hitting towers. If you build one in the center of your layout, you have multiple kill zones when they come back around.

I would also get the AA tower. 2 fully upgraded AA towers can kill just about all of the air units except for the air boss round.

I keep getting 19 lives left on normal, because of that damn flying boss! ARGH!

I had upgraded towers. I just sold them off to take the screenshot.

Very similar design I use in Zoator's Tower Defense Final Edition.

Playing this makes me want to play ZTD:FE!

Anyone on ATOT want to have some 8-player direction competition goin tonight?

I wish I could. I've got work until 5:00 and class until 9:30. I'd stay up and play anyways, but I only got about 2 hours of sleep last night because I waited until the last minute to do a project.
